Brain Pain discussion

Here is the planned schedule for The Spine 2012. Each Monday, a new discussion thread will be added, covering a portion of the book being read that week. To prevent accidental spoilers, please don't discuss any part of the work beyond the reading for that week.

The Waves - January 2 thru February 5 (5 weeks)
Modern Classics Ulysses Annotated Student's Edition - January 30 thru April 8 (10 weeks)
The Recognitions - April 9 thru June 10 (9 weeks)
Gravity's Rainbow June 11 thru August 12 (9 weeks)
Hopscotch August 13 thru October 14 (9 weeks)
Infinite Jest October 15 thru December 31 (11 weeks)

The specific weekly dates and corresponding pages/chapters will be posted as we begin each new book. Check the "Description" and "Schedule for Discussions" posts for each title as each new read approaches.

This is a schedule for the discussions. You can do your reading earlier or later, if you want. The only "rule" we ask you to follow is to respect other members and not reveal any spoilers beyond the part of the book being discussed. Naturally, you can and are encouraged to discuss earlier portions, and by the final week, we can discuss the book as a whole.

One important thing to remember is that we will keep these discussion threads open indefinitely. If you have joined the group and/or the reads after these dates, please go to whichever discussion threads match your reading and add your comments. The moderator and other members will happily respond to your thoughts and questions.
