From memory, the technique is to put the harness up your arm, put your hand on Dotty's face and slide the harness over your hand and onto her. You need to put a twist it through the "shoulders" of the harness otherwise she'll shrug out of it.
Oh and gauntlets, industrial strength.

One day they will name a cat harness after me.

Can anyone explain to me - in words of 1 syllable - how you put the pics in the middle of a post?
Goodreads allows some HTML formatting tags in posted comments. HTMl is what is known as a mark-up language and it is used to describe to the web browser both what elements to include and how to display them.
If, when you post a comment, you click on the link (some html is ok), a pop-up window will display all the permitted HTML tags and an example of their usage.
In the case of an image, the syntax is as follows:
{img src="http://www.goodreads.com/image..." width="40" height="100" alt="description" /}
I will explain this in a moment. Not that I opened and closed the tag with a pair of curly braces. I have only done this so you could see the mark-up code and to prevent the browser from trying to interpret my imaginary picture request.
When you do it for yourself, you need to use angled brackets < and > instead of curly braces.
What the tag means:
img : this tells the browser that what follows is an image file.
src : this tells the browser where to find the image. It has to be stored somewhere public - Tumblr, Flickr, ImageShack, your own website ... somewhere.
http://.... this is the actual address of the image. http stands for hypertext transfer protocol; for your purposes, you just need to know that this is a way for web browsers (the thing you are using to access the internet) and web servers (the computers which hold the information you want) to talk to each other.
The rest of the address is essentially the name of the webserver, the folder(s) and then the name of the image file itself.
alt : this can be anything you like. It stands for "alternative" (the American would have you believe it stands for "alternate" but we will let that pass).
Any text you put in here will be displayed instead of the image if the user has turned off image loading. Otherwise, you can normally see this text when you hover over a picture.
Width and height are the measurement in pixels at which you wish the image to be displayed. The actual image may be larger or smaller than these values but your browser will create a 'box' of the given size and pour your image file into it.
Goodreads allows maximum values of 400 pixels to comply with their page layour templates.
You should now be able to work out what is going on in this tag. Note I have again used curly braces instead of angled ones for the sake of showing you the actual mark-up text.
{img src = "http://myserver.com/top_folder/sub_fo..." width=100 height=100 alt="Pretty picture of my boat"}
I made the first part of this post italicised by writing {i}Can anyone explain ....?{/i} - again, I actually used < and > instead of { and }

Thank You comments & graphics

Exactly right. The reason you can simply copy and paste your thank you image is because zwani.com has stored the picture on their server and and the HTML code you copied includes the source - i.e., where to find it.

I've fallen in love with one of my characters. I'm obsessed -not my type at all. He's horrible. Should I allow him the woman he lusts after, or give him his just deserts?"
I think he's after both!
Why don't you start a new topic under Agony Aunt : 'Help! I'm having an affair with one of my characters!' and see what happens?

I've fallen in love with one of my characters. I'm obsessed -not my type at all. He's horrible. Should I allow him the woman he lusts after, or give him his just deserts?"
Every woman loves a bad boy (before they know any better) So give him both! After all, if you've fallen in love with him, he can't be all bad.

I've fallen in love with one of my characters. I'm obsessed -not my type at all. He's horrible. Should I allow him the woman he lusts after, or give him his just deserts?"
Only if there's any chance he might love you back. Love without reciprocity isn't love, it's obsession. I should know - I wrote my whole debut novel on the principle.
To start with we will try it with no restrictions on the type of question, so :
author to author,
reader to author,
author to reader,
Kindle,
Other eReader,
Life,
Girlfriend,
How to get a harness on a cat.
All I ask is that you make the topic title relevent to the question
And of course, if you know the answer or have had similar problems then join in....
We will see how it goes.....
