Early on we did our top 3 of the past 12 months but as the end we the year approaches I think it's time to start a new thread.

It's difficult to remember all the books I've read this year but off the top of my head I would say 'Room', 'The Book of Lost Things' and 'The Book Thief'. The second two were not published this year but I read them this year so counted them anyway.

The best books I read last year were The Help by Kathryn Stockett , Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer and The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes oh and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and

I forgot City of Thieves by David Benioff and I really enjoyed Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman
