Stephanie (chasmofbooks) Hey I'm trying to figure out a name for a book blog and was wondering what you all thought of Isle of Fiction, Fiction Island, or Chasms of Books? I'm having a difficult time finding something just right.

Let me know what you think or if I should scrap all three and come up with more.

I like both Fiction Island and Chasms of Books.

Before you settle on a name, think about what your blog header will look like because you may want to tie the title into the header graphics.

Example: one blog called Monster Books has a cute header filled with cute monsters.

I've also seen really cute headers with owls in them. So consider themes like hearts, flowers, animals (foxes, owls, bears, elephants...), fairies, dragons, etc. And then see if you can come up with titles from the theme.

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) I did want to do a water/sea theme which is one of the reasons why I'm kind of attached to Fiction Island but I don't even know how I would pull any of the graphics off. I don't have any software for that type of stuff.

On the other hand, I really do like Chasms of Books and have some ideas for the graphics and stuff. Plus it feels like it gives people a better idea of what the blog is about.

I have no idea where people get there graphics. If you look at my blog, there is no header, just some plain text. I soooo wish I had the skill and the tools to do graphic design stuff. If I could go back to college, I would take a few classes. As a writer and publisher, it's a skill that would be so useful.

A lot of bloggers who get really into their blogging will hire a graphics designer / blog designer. And it's a good idea if you are going to make a long term hobby out of it. But also some bloggers make businesses out of their blog by providing blog tour and marketing services to authors.

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) I was thinking of asking around goodreads to see if anyone did graphic design. There seems to be a lot of talented people here.

Nice! Love it. And the mountains in the background combined with the girl & fairy surrounded by mountains of books really captures the attention.
