Since it's December, we can start looking back at all our book boyfriends for 2011 reads and select the one and only ultimate hero for the year. He doesn't have to be a dangerous hero, since we'll have a thread for dangerous heroes for 2011. Let us know who you come up with. You have through 31 December, so no rush!

Rachel the Book Harlot | 217 comments Oh damn, this is hard! Don't make me choose! lol Okay, if I had to choose one from the books I read in 2011, it would be Jaime Lannister from A Dance With Dragons ( The Game of Thrones/ASOIF book series).

(No one tell Vishous, my #1 hero)

The BookChick (thebookchick305) Christian Grey from Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1) by E.L. James is my guy.

He kind of creeps me out, sorry ;)

LOL! It's okay! A lot of people feel that way. He's despicable. lol Just curious, have you read all of the books?

Rachel the Book Harlot | 217 comments Oh, I think I misunderstood. Is this to choose a hero from the group reads? I just thought it was our own personal favorites. Ooopsie!

Loved Adrian Paul. I wonder what he's doing now.

It's your personal favorite of the books you read this year, Rachel, so you're good to go.

Bookworm, me too.

message 12: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) @Bookworm - love Adrian Paul but for me the Highlander will always be Christopher Lambert.

@Rachel - I haven't read the books but I've seen the first 3 episodes of the series, and while he is gorgeous, Jaimie makes my skin crawl.

message 13: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) My favorite hero for 2011 - can't make up my mind between Dragos in Dragon Bound and Julian in Hard Evidence.

Ah, okay. Yeah, I used to feel that way too (I actually despised him). I won't spoil it but let's just say that S1 GOT was only an intro to the characters. The book series contains 5 books so far, with I believe 7-8 (maybe more?) books scheduled in total. Not sugarcoating Jaime (there is a lot of f**ed up stuff in his backstory) but all of the characters go through long arcs & the author messes with the "right & wrongs" of the world. :)

Good to know. I'm going to keep watching the series and give the books a try as well.

Bookie - you beat me to it. Definitely Christian Grey. Bones is going to feel very slighted Bookie.

The BookChick (thebookchick305) Psssst, Chelle...you can still nominate him.

You know I will always ...

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 152 comments *Raising hand in question* Does it have to be a book that came out in 2011? I started to broaden my reading horizon...and Ringil Eskiath from A land fit for heros is such a piece of work too.
