Eugene still seems ever so haughty especially his behaviour at the Veneerings. Interesting that they discuss living above one's means when most of them seem to do so. It also seems like everyone owes someone something, I wonder when they will find out the Fledgeby is behind all of this lending and has zero compassion for anyone? Mrs. L seems to have his number however.
Sometimes while reading some of Dickens, it seems almost as if it were a play with directions of what to do between the scenes.

Somehow I find Lavvy and Mrs. Wilfer endearing in their "majesty". Or at least funny ... Mr. Wilfer has it bad, but he should be glad he's not living in another novel with Mrs. Jellaby or Mrs. Pardigle.

Yes Bea, I love happy endings, and with Dickens, a part some really astonishing examples, you're quite safe on this side!!!
