Cool. Are they good?

Tiffany M | 16 comments The In Death series by JD Robb is pretty good. It's based around a homicide lieutenant in New York in 2059. The cop, Eve Dallas, is a great cop with a very horrifying past. She's married to a very rich, successful business man who came from humble and scary beginnings and who was actually the suspect in the first book of the series. Eve, her husband, and the other series regulars makes for pretty good reading. The futuristic aspects of the series are present, but not overdone. You sometimes forget the series is supposed to be set in the future.

Same

message 10: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany M | 16 comments You should. There's almost 40 books in the series (I think) and I'm on book 23. Eve doesn't fully remember her past. She doesn't remember anything before being found by police at 8 years old covered in blood. As the series progresses, her memory starts to come back and more of her past is revealed. The thing I love the most is that her character changes and grows throughout the series. I hate reading one dimensional characters with no depth who don't progress in some way.

message 12: by Linda (new)

Linda (lindacee) | 130 comments I just started Mary Modern by Camille DeAngelis which is about a woman who can't conceive so she tries to clone her dead grandmother but instead of a baby she ends up with a fully grown woman who has all of the grandmother's memories and things get even more complicated when the government starts investigating the lab where the granddaughter works. (I know it sounds weird but it's actually pretty good just slow in some parts)

I just started Fear: 13 Stories of Suspense And Horor by (mainly) R.L. Stine. It says that it'll make me scream, but it's actually just 'non-screamy' so far! :(
