One of the main reasons I didn't like this book was because it reminded me on why I failed science in school.. You could tell the author loved science and history in the this book and paid extreme attention to every detail.. Honestly, the plot isn't bad, the characters are enjoyable, and the ending leaves wanting more. I especially liked her take on vampires, witches, and daemons. BUT due to the never ending details on everything from the scenery to the taste of every wine they drunk it just became too much.. Plus i felt at some parts i reading a science textbook. The book was about 500 and something pages and could easily been edited down to at least 300 pages.. It just wasn't for me. I would love to hear your opinion if you do read it. Maybe I didn't give it enough to really like it. So please let me know what you think if or when you read it.
