I wanted to mention I book I am reading for this challenge even though it isn't that interesting. It is The Expedition of Cyrus by Xenophon translated by Robin Waterfield. The book is about a war and the travels to and from that war. It isn't that thick but it is a bit boring because it deals mostly with facts instead of a telling a story. Which means among other things that it tells you how much they travelled each day. Why I wanted to mention it is because of the author which is Xenophon. So you can use it for the X in this challenge. Xenophon also plays a part in the book and he mentions himself in third person, so you can also use it for the A-Z character challenge. it is also translated from ancient Greek so you can use it for the Diabolical Reading Challenge.
Like I said it isn't very interesting, but I still thought I mention it to you guys so you knew about it and can decide for yourself if you want to read it or not.

Damn, fortunately I can probably find one.

An author with an X is much easier than a title with an X. You should be able to do this. Good luck!
My mother sent me a parcel of books which I opened this afternoon with an author with a X! Not a particularly happy subject - stories about Chinese women who have lost daughters, but I'll read The Happiness Project after that to cheer me up. It should also solve my quest for a charater with an X since that's the only one I seem to be missing there as well.
I just have a massive pile of books to read before the end of the month - about 8 I think to finish all the bits and pieces and we're supposed to be moving house in between it all! I'm still single parent to our 2 daughters as well until my husband get back in 10 days time from India so hopefully I'll get it all done.

Well if you're moving house and a single parent and missing your husband and preparing for Christmas it is very important that every day you take some me time so you don't go completely nuts! That means that every day you get to read to relax and no one can say anything about it. :D
Sounds like a brilliant excuse to me!
Why don't we add a South African Book Lovers A-Z next year? The A-Z consists of names of the members of the group and you have to read a book of each ones bookshelf. At least we have a member whose name starts with X! So for B I can read a book of any of your bookshelves, C one of Claudia's etc.

We can make it a rule that for U, you can use anybody's name that has a U in it. Do we have a member starting with Z?
How's your house and animal relocation projects going?

Yes, there is one z. Didn't check how many books they had read though.
We are all settled in the new house. My dog is missing friends but goes for lots of walls and my parents are around most days so he is not alone. My cat is still inside but getting interested in checking out things beyond my door. He well get to explore my parents house on the weekend and probably go outside on the last weekend of the month. My python seems oblivious to the whole move!
Now I am back at work dealing with all the chaos related to construction in areas with live animals as well as peak season!

Updated with X and done. It was a heartbreaking book, but well written so if anybody needs an X, it's worth keeping her in mind. She's written a few books.
Congrats!
You have read the X author book I have planned for next year. :) I found the book a while ago in a sales bin and immediately thought to buy it for this challenge for next year, since I already read my X author book.

Carolien wrote: "It's great, because it is semi autographical you can use it for the character one as well."
I saw! it is the perfect solution.
It was the same with the X author book I read this year which was written by Xenophon and he himself also appeared in the book. I already had an X character so I didn't have to use, him but it is a great thing when you have that option. Although I must admit reading Xenophon is not for everybody. :)
