I hope everyone is having a great holiday season!

I thought Turn of Mind was kind of creepy too!

I'm going to start One Day this evening.

Mary, so far creepy good. And it's the characters who provide the creep factor because you just can't get a clear picture of who tells the truth.

I'm reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle as well as In the Path of Falling Objects, both of which have been slow going for me. Not because they are bad books, simply because so much else has been going on.

I'd still like to try to squeeze in two more books before the end of the year.

Nothing like being a handyman helper for a week.

Caroline - I really liked Let the Right One In. Very creepy. Have you seen either the American or Swedish version of the movie?

I've seen the Swedish Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, as well as the other two. I don't think I will see the American version, even though I adore Daniel Craig.

I have not, but I know the American one came out fairly recently, right? When did the Swedish movie come out?

I think it is definitely worth reading, when you are in the mood for something creepy. It's a murder mystery but really more of a psychological thriller. And I especially appreciate the fact that it cannot become a series.

The book has been a wonderful, intimate, peek into the lives of two very interesting women, Julia Child and Avis Devoto. What fun it's been be part of their journey during the 50's, when their letters might include details about Mccarthy trials and their complete hatred of him, and then followed by the best way to make Mayonnaise.
Love reading Avis's joy about getting a dishwasher, imagine pushing a button and having dishes cleaned, and Julie's excitement about having "air" conditioning, a new luxury, in Washington, DC during a 100 degree heat spell.
I'll miss these ole' gals ..................................
