Krista Benson (shscaptain1234) | 9 comments Hey there!

I'm personally 23...does anyone feel old to be reading this book? I mean in reality Edward looks like a 17 year old...but in my head he doesn't. :)

Do you get funny looks from friends and family for loving this series?

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

I am 22 and I love these books. My husband used to make fun of me because you do find the books in the like the pre-teen section but I finally read him Twilight and he is just as in love with the books as I am lol

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey there,
I'm 26 and I love the books! I have gotten my sister in law who is 23 hooked and another girl that's 22 and my sisters 31 and 33...I do feel really old but I look at Rob (Edward) and then it's all good! :)

message 5: by Christina (new)

Christina (honey1977) Hi Ladies!
I'm 31 years old, that's why I'm the oldie here, lol!
About getting funny looks- I'm used to these, I live alone with my 5 year-old son and own about 500 books.
And I'm reading while walking on the street, you know?!
Nobody has to think I'm nuts cause I read supernatural YA books ;)!
And my friends don't discuss it with me anymore cause they know I do it anyway, G!
You're all so lucky living in USA, because you can get your hands on every book immediately! In Germany we have to wait so much longer!!! And the "Twilight"- movie only starts on January 15th, aaaaargh!!!

It's all in good fun. I have a lot of friends (my age) who also like the books so I don't feel to weird about loving these books.

I'm almost 33 and I have been wondering if I'm to old for Twilight...but I just love the books and characters so much=) I guess no book has an age limit...I'm still a huge Green Eggs and Ham fan=)

message 10: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellerobins) OMG I LOVE THAT BOOK!!!

Kiwi | 4 comments I have a question for all you 20-somethings ^^.

Do you happen to like younger men?

message 13: by Stephanie, Loves Vamps and Werewolves but Zombies scare me!! (new)

Stephanie | 4175 comments Mod
I do like younger men...don't get me wrong not as young as the ones in the books=D...lol.

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

I am 22 and my husband is 26... does that answer your question?

message 15: by Laura (new)

Laura (laurabo13) i am 12 turning 13 soon and well i love these books and i am like always trying to get my parents to read them but they have like no time i think that everyone should read these books. cause if they dont they are missing out on something!

message 16: by Amy (new)

Amy (boymom9) all i ahve to say is that ppl went crazy about harry potter and they were 13 year old witches/wizards. there is nothing wrong with reading books about high schoolers. i'm 24 and love these books and we read about all ages in books. like to kill a mockingbird is about scout who is like what 10? yes, in my mind edward is 22 cuz i know rob is 22. my husband is 4 years older than me and my ex bf was a year younger than me. so idk if i really like oder/younger guys.

message 17: by Hayley (new)

Hayley | 19 comments haha I'm nearly 25 and couldn't put these books down - I went to a Hen Party in York (a Hen party is a bachlorette party) and read them on the trains to and from. Edward is eternally 17 but he's also 108 years old in every other way.

message 18: by Mccaul (new)

Mccaul (ryanmccaul) don't worry, my parents read the books, why, oh, why!, and they're 40. So never feel like ur too old to read em

message 19: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (4evajessca) | 8 comments Yea im 24 and addicted to these books, although I think that the books appeal so much to teens because of the marketing... All in all a good story is a good story. However, i wouldnt complain if Stephenie Meyer wrote a Vamp/Human book from an older perspective, like geared toward those in 20's and 30's.

message 20: by Stephanie, Loves Vamps and Werewolves but Zombies scare me!! (new)

Stephanie | 4175 comments Mod
Oh wow neither would I....I think thats a great idea!!!!

message 21: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (4evajessca) | 8 comments I tried to email her with my request....(not that it would make a different but would sastify myself at least that I tried) but she dismatled her email.....

message 22: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (4evajessca) | 8 comments So I went out and bought "The Host" as I hoped it would satisfy some of my craving since finishing the Twilight series, but have had a really hard time getting into it. Ive since moved on to The English Patient......so sad!

supercalifragiLINA | 2 comments I'm 22, but I work in a library so I've been able to see that people of ALL ages love this series. My mom read it, my boss is reading it, my coworkers are reading it. It spans all ages. I really hope Stephanie Meyer comes out with another series and I hope it'll be geared toward 20/30somethings. The Host is TOO teeny-bopper for my taste. I've moved on to Sunshine by Robin McKinley. So far it's awesome, and it's not a teen book at all.

message 24: by Anita (new)

Anita | 30 comments LOL
I'm 31 and a huge fan (well really of the first book and of the crazy 'draft' - that by the way better get finished LOL).
I think I've obsessed over this book to nearly everyone I know. There are a lot of secret fans out there LOL so dont feel bad.
I've watched the bootleg movie version a trillion times...I think I need to see it at the theater even though the movie is not incredibly good but...whatever! i'm obsessed! LOL
Happy Holidays everyone!

message 25: by Cindy (last edited Dec 31, 2008 03:27PM) (new)

Cindy (cindymendoza) haha :) this is awesome.

I'm twenty, but I started reading the books when they first came out, about what, three years ago maybe? Anyways, I have followed the series over the years, and although I feel like I'm starting to get a little old for it, I like to think of it this way: if it were a true story, Bella and I would be the same age right now, almost by the date. She's just a "few days younger" since my birthday is also in September. That's just the way I look at it :)

My family has always encouraged my reading, like super crazy, because I've always been the only "kid" in the family who actually sat and read while everyone else played video games and such, so honestly, they see me read, whatever it is, and they smile with pride. As for my friends, one of my best friends read Twilight when I recommended it to her, and she loved it to pieces. We got another close friend into the series too, and for my birthday last year, they actually bought me all three books (because there were only three then, haha...). I've also gotten a few ex's into the books, and few other people. I don't think I'd have friends who would give me funny looks over my reading selections :)

but that's just the way it is with me :)

Oh, and just to add to "Message 14", since I am twenty...something, I've always had a crush on one of my friends, who happens to be my bestest friend's younger brother, who's three years younger than me...is that creepy? I think so sometimes, but he's a great person and one of my closest friends :)

message 26: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (vanessahaunani) | 2 comments I'm 21 and i love the series....i've read them all and eveyone i know knows i'm addicted to it! and the series was recommended to me by someone in their 50s. and i've gotten people in their thirties to read the late 20s early 30 to read the series as well

what it comes down to is the series was targeted for a younger audience but with a classic love story and a touch of action and excitement it works for everyone!

message 27: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 04, 2009 12:09AM) (new)

Not at all I am 22 and it's been a long time since I've actually read a non-text book- a bit was a relief I was to find that my love of reading didn't go out with my Anatomy/Phys books!
Sigh. I love the characters- they are so easy to love.\\\I think being older you can appreciate the writing and her style.

I'm so happy that I read them!!! I think people of all ages love the books. I, for one, couldn't put them down. I really hope she continues on writing(her music taste is great too).
I will admit that in Book 3, I found myself getting annoyed at the dramatics (a bit overboard in some areas) but I pulled through.

message 29: by Emily (new)

Emily Bramlett Will be 29 on the 23th. I love the series... You are never to old to enjoy a good book.

message 30: by Lexi (new)

Lexi (theonecalledwhatsername) im 13 and i luv these books! also, my english teacher is 56 and she loved them 2! so there really isnt an age limit i guess...

message 31: by Toni (new)

Toni I'm 22 and I don't feel too old. I look young though, people tend to think I'm still in high school when they first meet me. So no, I don't get strange looks.

message 32: by Faith (new)

Faith | 84 comments Im 23 and luckily work in a school, so get plenty of pupils talking about the book to me (when they can get a word in hehe). At first i felt a little embarassed but there are older people then me who read it at work and I think the only thing that puts me off is its categorized as a teen book. When in reality I think it appeals to any age.

Jennifer (jennay888) | 1 comments Im 24 and I dont care that my friends and family members have to remind me often to act my age. I love the Twilight saga, cant a girl dream...geez. lol. It took me a whole week to read all 4 books, since i read them all at least 4 more times. Everytime it hits me like the first time. I've seen the movie in theaters twice but since finding an internet site that shows it for free I've seen it about 20 times. I practically know every line. Although if your a huge twilight saga fan then you would agree with me and say that the movie coul've been a lot better, specially the MEADOW scene. But I guess the movie will do in the mean time. I just hope they put better work into New Moon. *sigh*

message 35: by Nightshade (new)

Nightshade I'm a lot younger, but not the youngest one here, apparently :) I don't want to say how old I am, though. Let's leave it at 13-15...

I agree Tamara...it was really nice to read something where the young people waited for marriage and all that good stuff...it felt good to know that there is still some innocence in the world...

Meghan Marie Cullen (So-the-lion-fell-for-me) | 37 comments Hey, come on, I mean Stephenie Meyer is a young mother, so she definitally knows how to write to people of all ages. I mean, my friends mother is like almost 50 and she is reading it! And I know little 5th graders who live down the street from me! They are so adorabe! :)!
LONG LIVE TWILIGHT! :)!
lol

message 43: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey (lindseyloo725) | 6 comments My mom is 45 and she is reading the books. I think the good thing about the writing is it's good for anyone and no matter what, it's about love and if you've ever been in love or like the idea of falling in love, this book is for you.
