Wow, here we are at the end of 2011!! I hope you have all enjoyed some of ROAR whether you have followed through to the end or just pick and choose your ‘mini’ challenges.

Just a quick run through for our Final Reporting:
*Maximum of 5 books per ‘mini’ challenges (except for Mini SAT)
*Maximum of 7 ‘mini’ challenges PER book
*For Mini SAT, 15 points penalty per book read in excess of 5 per month BUT 50 bonus points if less than 5 books read for the month. Note: bonus points cannot be claimed if you skip shelves and there's 15 penalty points for each shelf skipped
*Don’t forget to claim your bonus points for the Thick books you’ve read and the monthly shelves (Wide) books - noting the exception for December where you can claim points for Wide from 15 November 2011 as Dec challenges were posted early

Thank you for everyone who participated and have been so very helpful and patient for another good game this year :)

Your feedback, as always, are welcome, as to how we can improve our ‘game’ or running of them.

Looking forward to your participation in our Next Game which will be unveiled around 20th January 2011. I will be in contact with some ROAR participants for your parts in the new game

Amy | 2241 comments When you say a maximum of 5 books per mini challenge, that also includes thick and wide books, right?

Kazza, doesn't this leave out one of the deductions? Points deducted for every shelf skipped in the mini-SAT?

Oh, found it: Message 1, rule 5d:
"You may skip up to 12 shelves out of 144 shelves, but you will be penalised 15 points per shelves. Please note if you skip a shelf in a particular month’s list of shelves, even though you completed the list with less than 5 books, you cannot claim the 50 bonus points."

Oh, I hadn't thought so. I don't think there's a limit on how many thick and wide books you can count per month.

Susan, you're right on both counts! And here I thought I was being accurate :p

message 7: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2241 comments Next year I definitely have to ask my questions and get things clarified earlier in the year. Looks like I can grab a few extra wide points for December, which is an unexpected bonus.

Back to reading...8 books in progress that I need to finish by end of December. Wish me luck!

Wow! Eight??? Good luck!!!
I only have two that I'd like to finish to make my personal goal, one an audio book. And I don't think even that is going to happen.

Got 6 out of the 8 done. One of my remaining 2 is an audio book, but with 20 disks, I thought it would be a tall order, and I was right. Only made it to disk 10. Oh well...

My internet has been stuffed up and only been fixed so, I'm going to update the ladder soon...

And, I'll give it to Monday for anyone else who'd like to submit their score and we'll finalise ROAR by 15th *fingers crossed*

However, from what I can see so far, the scores are looking mighty terrific ;)

Congrats on your engagement, Christina! Exciting times ahead!! Have you set a date? Good Luck with the wedding preps etc :)

message 20: by Christina's Book (new)

Christina's Book Chronicles (christinasbookchronicles) | 251 comments Thank you! We are looking at November 2013. Two of my brothers and three friends are getting married this year and I'm maid of honor in two of them so we kinda wanted our own time :) Plus I'm trying to finish my degree before the wedding so hopefully I can make that happen! I'm helping out at all weddings far so by my time I should be a pro ;) I get sad though when I haven't been able to pick up a book for days!!

Okay, I don't think we're expecting anyone else to update their scores. I have been in contact with Lahni, Dee, & Christina who have been very busy & discracted with other more exciting things ;)

So... **drum rolls**

Congrats to Susan for 1st place with Amy & Coralie following not too far behind.

Congrats also Susan, Amy & Sam for completing Mini SAT.

Susan read the most number of WIDE books (99!!!) with Coralie and Sam tying for the most number of THICK books (29).

BIG thank yous for all participants who kept their scoring threads so neat and tidy! It was amazing considering the complexity of the game.

oops, well, my excuse is that your message wasn't quite specific what you were "slammed" with, ha ha ha, I just assumed it would be other HOT reading challenges etc ;)
