Mary (marybt) | 336 comments What is something you splurge on just because it makes you happy?

For me it's sunglasses; I buy good sunglasses. But I only buy a pair every 3 years or so, so maybe that's not a huge splurge because I don't purchase them regularly.

The other thing is Clinique Buttershine Lipstick in Water Violet; which I do buy regularly because I wear it every day.

Elizabeth (Alaska) If you ask my husband, he'd say for me it's books! ;-) I wouldn't consider that splurging though.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) I spurge on books, going out to eat and movies. I don't get a chance to go out often.

message 4: by Skandia (new)

Skandia (sfgirl) Books, off course, and shoes. Can't pass by the bookstore and I probably own ten times more shoes than I need.
Now, as I gifted myself a brand new Kindle Touch for my birthday, it's even more easier to go crazy buying books.

That cracks me up. I totally cheap out on toilet paper - I need more money for lipstick! lol.

message 14: by Christine (new)

Christine | 1311 comments I get my nails done every 2 weeks and pedicure with that during the summer. I also get my hair cut/colored every 5 weeks. Could I do this myself?
Yes, but this is my splurge for working all the time :)

message 21: by Lianne (new)

Lianne (eclecticreading) | 365 comments Books, definitely. I think I actually spend more on books than on food *blushes*

Other than that, maybe notebooks, I can't remember if I've splurged out on notebooks but I seem to have quite a stack of blank ones here in the house so...lol

message 22: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (cyndil62) | 1774 comments I splurge on notebooks and stationary/cards.... Also on BOOKS of course!!

Twin Peaks as in http://twinpeaksfest.com/
based on the show Twin Peaks?
I LOVED Twin Peaks. I have the whole old series on video cassette tapes (taped when they originally aired, I have a copy of the soundtrack, and I even read The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer by Jennifer Lynch .

I live in WA state, so I've actually been to North Bend, have had pie at the Double R Diner (Mar-T Cafe) in North Bend, but have never been to the festival.

And now, if you are talking about some other Twin Peaks, I have just proved I'm a total geek! :o)

message 32: by Francis (new)

Francis Ray (francis_ray) | 7 comments Plants and clothes for me.
Handbags for my daughter.

message 33: by Mary (new)

Mary (marybt) | 336 comments I don't think chocolate counts as a splurge since it's necessary to survival - you know, like air and water. haha.

message 34: by Viola (new)

Viola | 1014 comments Heating and cooling, but mostly heating. I typically like to be environmentally conscious/green, but I splurge on keeping that thermostat at a nice 72 or even 73 in the winter. My parents set their house to 68 or something like that and think it's more than plenty.

I'm so sorry mother earth. Despite all of my other green efforts, having a warm house is something I can't let go of.

Elizabeth (Alaska) It's ok, Viola, the earth is going through a cooling phase.

Laura - It really is the best product. I even bought the one for curls. It is awesome.

message 40: by Sofia (new)

Sofia (sofiasmy) Chocolate, chocolate and... did I say chocolate? Yep, pretty much that, especially in that time of the month :)

What are vinyl toys?

message 42: by Chantelle (new)

Chantelle (chantelle13) | 20 comments Books.
Clothes for my kid.
Sheets/bedding.

message 43: by Heather (new)

Heather | 2 comments For me it certainly depends on the season. the only constant is "me time" which is getting my hair color weaved, cut, & styled...like clock work...every 7 weeks!! Next I would say Oregon Ducks football tickets, events, & apparel!! and yes....shoes. Again...seasons....REI camp gear and apparel as well. work hard, play hard!!!

message 44: by Heather (new)

Heather | 2 comments Hey Sofia are you a fan of chocolate? ;+) Me too!! Favorite??

swop out Orgeon Ducks for Michigan Wolverines.... and I'd have to say you were spot on! We just got our first REI store by me in NJ! :)

message 46: by Mish (new)

Mish Besides books…I would say perfume, handbags, hair products (anything to tame my frizzy, uncontrollable hair) and good styling brushes :)

message 47: by Beth (new)

Beth (techeditor) | 30 comments I would say book because I get them often and have so many, but I really don't spend a lot on them; it's so easy to get good books cheap.

I splurge on my home, i.e., I spend lots on furniture and rennovations.

message 48: by Beth (new)

Beth (techeditor) | 30 comments Megan (trixieKitten) wrote: "Nicole wrote: "Books and My Cats."

That reminds me, I splurge on my cat, too. She eats expensive Hill's Prescription Diet food and her kitty litter is name brand, not generic. Nothing but the best for her!

message 49: by Lori (new)

Lori Baldi | 184 comments Book buying is a way of life for me and the splurges are rare. I buy used paperbacks & swap online so my purchases are mostly cookbooks that I can't live without like the Barefoot Contessa or the Pioneer Woman. My real splurges are restaurants once or twice a week. That dollar amount can be pretty high and I don't go to really expensive places EVER. The other splurging area is the beautification of me. That is really hard work! Hair every 6 weeks, nails every 2 weeks, pedicure every month. That reminds me: it's time for a springtime nail splurge.

message 50: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (missbrittany) | 336 comments I splurge on cosmetics. ;)
