Hi. My name is Eric, and I'm the author of Undermountain, a YA Adventure.

It's currently available only as an ebook at Amazon, Nook and Smashwords. All my royalties through midnight Jan. 1st, 2012 are going to literacy charities through donors choose.org.

Six teens and a grizzled old guide embark on a ten day expedition into the wilds of the Canadian Rockies. Some came for adventure. Some came to learn. Some came to escape the troubles of home.

For sixteen year old Danny Michaelson the hike is his first trip away from his troubled home life.

For Breyona Lewis the hike is an escape from a terrible memory—of an assault she denies even to herself.

But when Danny and Breyona encounter a creature out of legend—an enormous beast they immediately tag as "bigfoot"—the hike suddenly becomes a race for their lives.

Swept into a secret underground city and told they may never leave, the hikers find themselves in the middle of a war between the bigfeet and their rebellious servant race, the tangoga. In their desperate attempt to escape, Danny and Breyona uncover the terrible plans that both races have for Earth.

To escape, to live, to save the Earth—Danny must fight. Breyona must surrender.

Ugh. I've spent almost all day outlining for book 2 and my eyes are about to fall out of my head from staring at this screen. Time to take a break and look at my kindle screen for a while :P

I love my kindle so what are reading right now.

I met the author at a writing seminar and decided to give it a try. It's epic space opera, so it's taking a lot of pages to establish all the characters. I'm enjoying it though.

I just finished reading the by C.S. Splitter its sort of a mystery/crime novel. His writing is good.

This isn't really apropos for this group, but I'm excited about it. I just published a bit of non-fiction to Amazon. I spent three years traveling to Nashville in an attempt to be a pro songwriter. In the process I met a lot of songwriters and I studied a LOT of hit songs. I decided to put my knowledge of the craft into an eBooklet and share it with the world.

Okay, so I published my first novel on Dec. 23rd and just happened to get invited to this group here. I already have great new tweeps to follow and am finding great resources through all the blogs and tweets. I'm so grateful for goodreads and this group.

The only problem is I'm stuffing my kindle so full of new books, I can't do anything but read until Dec. 31st, 2012. Can't do that though, I've got a book to write!

I'm proud to announce that between Dec. 24 and Jan 1st I donated all my royalties from to a few literacy projects through DonorsChoose.org. The proceeds were contributed to fund the purchase of books for classrooms in high poverty schools in LA, and New York.

I'm going to be doing more things like this in the future. I've had many blessings and advantages in my life, so I like to pay it forward.

Just for fun I've posted a free download of the "Danny and Breyona" theme song on my website: "Every Time You Smile".

Danny and Bre are the main characters from my book, Undermountain. The song is sung from the POV of Danny, and I think encapsulates his feelings toward Bre pretty well.

I wrote this song a couple years ago, but I think it's perfect for the two of them. Danny is from Nashville, so there's a bit of country edge to the song. I am NOT the singer in this recording, but I did write the words and music.

I LOVE the song!! I love country music, so it's perfect!

Now I can't wait to read Undermountain. I have it and should be getting to it this weekend :)
