Same as always, read as few or as many as you like, based on wacky off the wall holidays. Don't ask me how they come up with them! lol (I found the list here: http://www.holidayinsights.com/moreho...)

Jan 11 - Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friend's Day Read a book with any form of water in the title or on the cover.

Jan 13 - Blame Someone Else Day - first Friday the 13th of the year. Read a mystery where someone is falsely accused. (Easiest way to find one is to find a book where an amateur slueth helps solve a mystery to clear their name.)

Jan 10 - Peculiar People Day Read any book with a quirky character in it. (Use your own judgement to what you would define as a quirky character.)

Jan 23 - Measure Your Feet Day Read a book with a number somewhere on the cover or in the title, or has shoes on the cover. (It counts if someone is wearing the shoes.)

Jan 31 - Backward Day Instead of reading the oldest book on your TBR list, read the most recent one added. (And I'll never know if you add one just so you can read what you want! lol)

TE (jeannette-marie) January 2012 Mini Challenge

√ Quirky character: Executive Lunch
Water in the title or on the cover: The Scent of Rain and Lightning
√ Someone is falsely accused: Roast Mortem
Number on the cover: Think of a Number
Most recent TBR: The Missing Ink

I don't think I'll be even close to meeting this month's challenge, especially since two of my books haven't yet arrived. I did get a PBS message this morning that Missing Ink has been offered for a trade, so I may get that one on time.

Executive Lunch (A Sedona O'Hala Mystery #1) by Maria E. Schneider The Scent of Rain and Lightning by Nancy Pickard Roast Mortem (Coffeehouse Mystery, #9) by Cleo Coyle Think of a Number (Dave Gurney, #1) by John Verdon The Missing Ink (Tattoo Shop Mystery, #1) by Karen E. Olson

Nell | 1223 comments Yes, you can include a book that is not a mystery.
Probably - we're an easygoing group.

I'm not having this problem. At the bottom of the popup, I click cover if I want the picture.

Yes, you don't have to read all mysteries. You can, or not, it's up to you. And yes, the number written out is fine. Nell's right, I'm pretty easy going and not too fussy about challenges. I like to give you options.

I noticed the above, older comment when I went this morning to report my abysmal progress on this month's challenge. In case anyone else has problems, try adding a book title link and then typing "cover" after the word "book" (without a space) in the html code.

Nothing I read fits in the water categorry.

I am just discovering Nancy Drew. Somehow I don't remember ever reading them. This first one was wonderful for the time and age it was written.

Rediscovered Cozies with the Miss Julia series about six years ago. A co-worker was reading them and they were very funny. I have found they are even better in audio book.
