Candiss (tantara) I've been aiming for 50 books the last couple of years, and I managed 67 in 2010 and 73 in 2011, so I figure 75 is a reasonable goal for 2012.

The running list of books read:

January
Bless Me, Ultima
Prometheus Unbound
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (re-read)
Bones of the Moon
Behold the Man
Dying Inside
The Einstein Intersection
Dawn
Y: The Last Man, Vol. 1
The Paper Menagerie
War of the Worlds
Silently and Very Fast
The Vet's Daughter
Isis
From the Dust Returned
A Month in the Country

Candiss (tantara) 4. Bones of the Moon by Jonathan Carroll ** (So very disappointed... I really like this author, but this was nigh unreadable for me.)

I hate it when an author lets me down.

Candiss (tantara) 7. The Einstein Intersection by Samuel R. Delany **** (4.5, really)

Candiss (tantara) 8. Dawn by Octavia E. Butler ***** (Awesome! Now I need to read the rest of the series.)

Candiss (tantara) 10. The Paper Menagerie by Ken Liu ***** (This is actually a short story, which is up for a Nebula this year. Since it's on Goodreads, I'm going to count it. I'm in the middle of two big ol' chunkster reads, so I'm behind on book count and need all the help I can get! ;) )

This was a beautiful, poignant story and is available online (legally) for free at via a quick Google search, courtesy of Clarkesworld magazine online.

Candiss (tantara) 11. The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells ****

This is an enduring classic totally worth the effort, compact and simply a great story. My equally compact review is here.

I tried to read this once, discovered I was not in the mood for 100+-year-old language, and haven't gone back to it since. I really should, I have the feeling I would enjoy most of H.G. Wells' stories, if I can get over the old-fashioned style.
