message 10: by Lisa (new)

I was a Jacob girl until the last book and then I kind of fell for Edward. Well if I was into vampires anyhow...lol

message 12: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 196 comments 7. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan.
The third and last YA for a while I think. I need a break from all that teenage angst.
As for Jacob (eclipse) I think I like the under dog... No pun intended.

L, I love Chris Bohjalian but I often struggle through his books as I read them and then close the last page only to say "wow, that was awesome!"

His books are worth the struggle. "Awesome" is usually what I say too.

WOW!!! If a book ever deserved its hype it would be this one. I'm emotionally drained from reading it. I hated the characters yet this is probably my favorite book of the year so far.

Looks like you read this in August and I just finished it. I agree my favorite book this year. I woke-up early and stayed-up late to finish it. It couldn't have ended any other way. My new favorite author.

I too love Chris Bohjalian's books. My favorites are Skeletons at the Feast, Midwives and the Double Bind. I did not finish Water Witches or the Buffalo Soldier. I just couldn't connect with the story. I just bought the Night Strangers. Have you read it?

message 32: by Andrea, Moderator (new)

Andrea | 4456 comments Mod
Vicki, I have read Before You Know Kindness, The Law of Similars, and Midwives.

I have the Double Blind, but I have not read it

message 33: by Vicki (new)

Vicki | 21 comments Andrea, do you recommend Before You Know Kindness and The Law of Similars? The Double Bind is one of his books that may be a struggle to get through. Once you finish the book you will be amazed you didn't see the end coming.

Vicki, they were both very good. I really just love the way he writes though. In one of his book trailers I watched on his web site he says they he just loves writing about women and children and the family. It really shows because he gives them all depth and life.

message 35: by Vicki (new)

Vicki | 21 comments Andrea, both books are already on my to-read list so I can't wait to read them. Thanks so much for letting me know you liked them.
