Shea | 346 comments I debated doing a classics challenge this year since I have so many other books I would like to read. However, I have enjoyed this challenge so much the past couple years and have gotten so much out of it I am going for it again in 2012. I am relaxing my rules a little and will allow myself to count books I have read in the past. I have been wanting to re-read The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald for a long time but have avoided them because they would not count for my challenge. I am sure I reading them as an adult will be completely different than reading them as a high school student. Wish me luck. I will keep you posted.

Shea | 346 comments I know it is only October 16th but I am declaring this year's challenge an EPIC FAIL. I have not read one classic this year and know I will not manage to read 7 before December 31st. Better luck next year.

Sherry Hi Shea!! Didn't think you were posting anymore! Sorry to hear that your challenge was a bust this year. Some years are like that. I'm sure things will be better for you next year though. I see you have read The Scarlett Letter. How did you like it? I saw a copy in the bookstore and nearly bought it but for some reason put it back on the shelf.

Shea | 346 comments Sherry,
I haven't been posting on this group much. Most of my time has been on Jane Austen, Romantic Historical Fiction, and Reading the Chunksters. This group hasn't been very active as of late.

I read the Scarlett Letter in high school and really liked it then. I am looking forward to reading it with an adult perspective.

Sherry Well, except for the occassional spammer it has been pretty inactive here. It's a little sad because it's a great idea for a group but moms have way too much to do to be active in a group, never mind reading.
