Kent | 7 comments I'm new to the Nook Tablet so please forgive me if this is a no brainer. I currently do not have wireless at home so I was wondering if I could dl books from my pc to the NT if I have a usb cable with the charger connection on the other end? If so would I drag and drop or how it would work? Thank you all in advance.

Matthew (swint) I know you can definitely move .epub formatted books from your computer to your Nook with no problems. I'm not so sure about buying an ebook from B&N and somehow downloading it then to your computer and moving it. I've never tried doing that, personally, so it may be possible and may not.

Connecting your Nook to your computer via USB cable should "mount" the Nook similar as a USB thumb drive or external hard drive. Then you can just drill down into it and find the My Files folder, I believe it's called, and copy your books into the Books folder there. Unplug your Nook and it should recognize the new .epub formatted books and list them in your Nook library.

Dick (dick1030) | 18 comments I know B&N has a free app "Nook for PC" and I believe that any book that you purchase or get free from B&N (and there are literally hundreds, if not thousands, available in addition to the Free Friday Book) you should be able to read on your PC as long as it is in your Nook account. They also have Nook for Android, iPhone, iPad and Mac, all free downloads.

Jake | 1 comments Dick is right; plus anything you download to your nook account will automatically sync up with your nook Tablet whenever it does connect to wi-fi. Although, moving books from your PC to your NT may no longer function; rumor has it that B&N is taking out the ability to sideload with their new software update (1.4.1). That may be just for apps, but some people are complaining that they can no longer move books from programs, like Calibre, over to their NT. I have a nook Color and haven't noticed any issues with the new update as of yet.

Matthew (swint) Nook firmware version 1.4.1 has been out for a little while now. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/Softw...

You can still sideload books just like you could with previous firmwares. I've not had any issues moving books back and forth from Calibre to my Nook Color. Maybe the Nook Tablet has some patching that hinders that ability?

message 8: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1 comments The Nook can't read .avi movies, but most mp4 work great. All my pics are jpeg and they view fine, haven't tried any other kinds of pictures. They sideload fine.
