I'll read this one in March.

SharHops | 45 comments Yay, more people to read with us :) I honestly don't know much about this book....other then the fact that I own a copy.

Johanna | 766 comments Same with me :)

Tatum | 459 comments Oh-oh.... Part 1: 1968 & Part 2: 1995 which are technically broken up with little tree pictures, but no chapters or easy way to break up beyond that.

Johanna | 766 comments Maybe I can count the chapters so we´ll have something to go with. About 5 chapters in one or how many? I´ll tell you the page numbers.

Tatum | 459 comments That would probably work. I have the ebook version so it was very hard to do so.

Johanna | 766 comments In PART 1: p 5-162

p 5-57, 58-109, 110-162

PART 2: p 165-331

165-217, 218-267, 266-324

Something like this? Or is there too many?

Tatum | 459 comments Will need to wait on Sara for confirmation, but that looks good to me :) Thanks Johanna!

SharHops | 45 comments Will page numbers work? Some people have a physical copy and others have an ecopy, so the pages won't be the same.

message 10: by Johanna (new)

Johanna | 766 comments Oh yeah that´s true. Is there another way than just count the chapters..?

SharHops | 45 comments Lol. I create ebooks, which is why i thought of it. Usually books that don't have chapters have some type of section breaks. However, they don't always cut them into small manageable chunks :(

Tatum | 459 comments Mine is e-book but my e-reader usually lists the actual physical book page numbers in the margins so I think it will work for me or nearly enough. Even if it doesn't, they do have the little tree breaks so where you have 5-57 if I have a chapter ending on page 55 or 59 instead, it's bound to be the right one.

Melissa (missie322) | 208 comments I will be participating :)

Tatum | 459 comments Who is leading this one? Shar or Johanna?

SharHops | 45 comments As far as I know....I'm not :)

message 16: by Tatum (new) - rated it 1 star

Tatum | 459 comments Well... since you seem to have taken the lead, I've put you down as discussion leader for this. I will be starting it very soon. Busy trying to get ahead in the Hunger Games so I can lead my own discussion over there ;)

SharHops | 45 comments Well, I will certainly try to make it interesting :) I've never led one before. Aaahhh another new thing that i'm trying in 2012 :) Thank You :)

Tatum | 459 comments I read what you put in the first section, you'll do great :)

message 19: by Johanna (new)

Johanna | 766 comments I´ll read His Dark Materials first then this!

Tatum | 459 comments Still hoping that someone who's read this can private message me with the last thing going on in sections 58-109, 110-162, 163-217... I am not sure if it's because my copy has smaller print or if I am in a different place (I must be in a somewhat different place because my chapters do not end on those pages) and I am afraid to make any comments as I think I am ahead because my book has... I forget now, but around 270 pages total.

message 21: by Johanna (new)

Johanna | 766 comments I have just started this one, but haven´t gotten to the end of the first section yet, I´ll let you know when I do.

Tatum | 459 comments I don't like to dissuade people from reading books, many people like books that I don't like. What I will say is this, I've finished it. I couldn't stand it. (I have a review posted but there's a fairly large spoiler tag at the end which you definitely do not want to read if you plan to read the book). If you are reading it and you don't like it and you are hoping it gets better, it doesn't, may as well set it aside. If you read it and like it, more power to you but it wasn't for me.

message 23: by Johanna (new)

Johanna | 766 comments I have only started it and well, don´t really know what I´m reading.

SharHops | 45 comments Sorry guys, I haven't been updating. I started reading the book, and then thought i was reading it too fast for a buddy read, so i stopped and started reading something else that really interested me. I'm going to start reading this again this week, and hopefully have something to talk about :)
