Libbie Hawker (L.M. Ironside) (lmironside) | 6 comments Hmmm...this is a tricky challenge in some parts! A prince as the main character. Hrrmmm...I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'll get to work on it!

Interested folks can check out my own book. I'm happy to say it's getting good reviews, and it would fit the "female ruler as central character" requirement or the "set before the 16th century" requirement. The Sekhmet Bed by Lavender Ironside

Great job, Destiny, and that is a good idea about the shelf. I have shelves for all of my challenges.

As for the Castle book, the castle just has to figure prominently. So almost any book that takes place mostly in a castle could be used.

Nicola (nicola1) | 33 comments This is my planned list so far based on the books I have - it may change. I will mark them off and add a rating as I go. (ETA: Changed my mind already and done some swapping around of different challenges etc!)

I'm really hoping to use this challenge to get through some of the royal biographies I have that are appealling but hefty reads so I have left them to one side for years!

1. The King's Speech: How One Man Saved the British Monarchy

2. Mary Tudor: England's First Queen

3. The Golden Prince

4. Anastasia: The Riddle of Anna Anderson

5. The Lady in the Tower: The Fall of Anne Boleyn

6. That Woman: The Life of Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor.

7. The Duchess by Amanda Foreman

8. Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution

9. Anna Karenina

10. The Warrior Queens

11. The Darling Strumpet: A Novel of Nell Gwynn, Who Captured the Heart of England and King Charles II

12. Queen Victoria
