sounds great! Agree with Bill on Pope Benedict books - they're so deep that I think discussing them together will help me. Maybe his two on Christ is a good start?

In the "Time Travel" Goodreads group, we take nominations for about a week (nominate only one book and each book only once; i.e., one that has not already been nominated; preferably of books still in print and readily available) and then a poll is put up for another week to determine the final selection.

I'd like to nominate Story of a Soul: The Autobiography of St. Therese of Lisieux.

As I see it, the list of nominations so far is as follows:

(Sorry, Dan - Jesus of Nazareth, Part Two: Holy Week: From the Entrance into Jerusalem to the Resurrection is your 2nd nomination, so I can't include it. Besides, we should all read part 1 first - we know from Star Wars what a mistake it is to read/watch out of order. :-)

Sorry I didn't put the poll up - no computer at home due to some folks deciding to break in and steal it (boo!). Hope you all have a fruitful read. Be sure to choose a good, solid, faithful Catholic book!

Wish I could read this book along with you guys. If I had access to a free copy I would join in. I already have too many books on my kindle so won't be buying anything new anytime soon. Will check in to see how the discussion is going. C.S. Lewis is great!

Thanks for the tip Jamie, but I live on an island and chances are our tiny library will not have that book. If it's God's will, I'm sure that book will fall into my hands. Until then, have tons more to keep me busy for now :)

It's the 2nd week into February now. I hope I can finish it in time for the discussion.

I am juggling a lot of books but I am really enjoying The Screwtape letters. The wit and insight make it such a memorable read!
