Book Bridges discussion

I remember my first. I was in high school and read Auntie Mame. I was surprised as I got close to the end that I did not want to be done with the characters.

The Godfather just blew me away as a freshman in college. I bet that book was passed all over the dorm.

I think I was 10 or 11 when I started reading Stephen King's 'It' and while I REALLY needed it to end, I didn't want it to.
I loved the whole scary factor.
I got in a LOT of trouble from my mom when she found out I was reading it, btw.
My teacher called her and narced on me.

I think for me the first book that I didn't want to see end was Mutiny on the Bounty. Fortunately for me our small library was able to get me copies of the two other books that made up the trilogy Pitcairn's Island and Men Against the Sea and after a few weeks delay, I was off reading again.

From there I went on to Mr. Midshipman Hornblower and his adventures which I enjoyed even more.

I have tried the first one of those and a good number of the Richard Bolitho novels by Alexander Kent and they're good but they don't engage me the way that the Hornblower's do.

Good for you that Sandra Kring is still writing. She is still writing?
