Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) This month I thought we'd switch it up a bit. Instead of reading books that fit certain cover categories, what about genres?

Choose two genres that you don't read a lot of on a normal basis. Read two books in each genre. When you finish, start again! Use the same genres, or pick new ones.

Grant yourself 2 points for each book you finish. Total points at the end of the month will get to make up the March Challenge! :)

Aneeqah | 227 comments I absolutely love the idea for this challenge, Zakiya. I'm excited to get started on this in Feburary!

Historical Fiction
1.
2.

Adult
1. The Help by Kathryn Stockett
2. The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley
The Help by Kathryn Stockett The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (A Flavia de Luce Mystery, #1) by Alan Bradley

Total Points:

I think I'm going to stick with these 2 genres for the whole month, since I barely read any historical or adult books.

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Thanks! I didn't want to do the usual "romance" book thing.

message 4: by Zakiya (last edited Jan 29, 2012 03:53PM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Hmm....This will be interesting!

Non-fiction:
1.
2.

Mystery:
1. The Name of the Star
2.

Total points:

Think I will stick to these two genres all month as well...Depends on how many books I can get my dad to let me buy :)

Anyone have any non-fiction suggestions??

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 1455 comments Non-Fiction
1.
2.

Thrillers/Mysteries
1.
2.

I think I will do this. I have some books but not sure how many I will get too. I usually read from a broad range of genres, but usually hardly any of these. Although I do have quite a few of these in my list of to-read books.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 537 comments I think I will sit out for this challenge only because I read a variety of genres.

message 22: by Lori (new)

Lori Goldstein For this challenge I've decided to change one category from Science Fiction to just "Fantasy" and would like suggestions for this particular genre.

My other selection is classics which I won't have any problems with since my KOBO has 100 re loaded.

Thanx in advance for the help.

message 23: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 315 comments Amy - i'm the same, I don't know if I have a specific genre I avoid

message 24: by Roseann (last edited Feb 24, 2012 11:11PM) (new)

Roseann | 51 comments This is tough as I'm pretty eclectic, but I'll choose:

POETRY
1. Horoscopes For The Dead: Poems
2. I Love a Broad Margin to My Life

and

TRUE CRIME
1. As If
2. Vanished at Sea: The True Story of a Child TV Actor and Double Murder

Done!!
