Just finished The Thirteenth Tale, and was going to start 'Measuring the World'.
NO! It disgusts me! Really!
11) Does the title, amount of pages and the cover affect you when you are considering a specific book?
A little. But if the plot at the back cover really rings a bell inside me, I don't consider the length. I really consider the length while browsing non-fictions.
No way!! I hate that! I think it undermines the integrity and respect of the book as well as the author.
13) Have knowing the ending of a book (example, through spoilers or a movie) ever made you decide whether you will read the book or not?
Absolute no! But I usually avoid things that might reveal to me the climax of a novel I'm about to read.

Lord of the Rings - 5 times and enjoyed it more everytime.
15) Have you ever been in an accident where the book was the cause? (for example, almost getting hit by a car when reading while walking, or having stacks of books falling on you from a bookshelf...)
Not anything I can think of but yeah, I really fall deep into a book sometimes, which has been a cause of some broken conversation threads with friends. But I guess its natural.
16) Do you sell/give away your books or do you keep them, even though you don't like one of them?

Nothing before GR!
19) Do you keep a reading diary/journal?
No, but then how does it matter? If some mention of a book I've read comes up, I'm able to recall it immediately.

I guess I would have to say "To the Lighthouse" by Virginia Wolf which we were supposed to read for AP English the summer before senior year of high school. I only got to like the 3rd chapter I think. But I keep swearing I'll read it one day! I just used Sparknotes to help me get through the class without reading it (totally worked)
2) The best reading experience you have ever had?
Wow. Idk. That's hard. I always tell people "Up the Down Staircase" is my favorite. It meant a lot to me since I was just starting high school at a public school and I had come from a very small Catholic K-8 school of about 100. The book really resonated with me.
3) Which book has affected or influenced you the most so far?

I never used to (and still don't usually) but sometimes I do highlight or underline quotes. That started when I was reading On the Road for class. At first I was keeping a sheet with quotes, but then I got tired of having to write them all out so I started highlighting.
11) Does the title, amount of pages and the cover affect you when you are considering a specific book?
I hate to say it but YES. Cover plays a big role. It's harder for me to get into it if I'm not into the cover (but I can still do it). And really long books can be intimidating. I know I can read them, but who has the time?? They just feel too imposing.
12) Do you ever browse through to the last pages in order find out the ending?
NOOO!! I hate that.
13) Have knowing the ending of a book (example, through spoilers or a movie) ever made you decide whether you will read the book or not?
I try my absoulte best to stay away from spoilers. Although (and I hope I'm not spoiling this for anyone) Dumbledore and Sirius's deaths were spoiled for me and I still read the books (obviously. haha) But if I didn't like the movie version of a book, then I'm probably not going to read it. If I liked the movie, I probably will.

11) Does the title, amount of pages and the cover affect you when you are considering a specific book?
COVER!!
12) Do you ever browse through to the last pages in order find out the ending?
I have in the past. Certain series, I'll just skim the back to see if certain characters would come back. (IE: EDWARD CULLEN in NEW MOON)
13) Has knowing the ending of a book (example, through spoilers or a movie) ever made you decide whether you will read the book or not?
Uhm, it depends on if I wanted to read it previously. If it was a terrible movie, or I heard something about it that I knew I wouldn't like then I might not read it. But usually it works to the advantage of the book
14) Is there a book that you have read more than five times?

8) Which do you prefer - paperback or hardcover? Depends on the book. If it is one I want to keep and re-read a lot, Hardcover, because they usually take the abuse better.

19) Do you keep a reading diary/journal? No.

Hmm that's a good one. I guess it would be Have Spacesuit Will Travel. I remember having to read it in middle school, and I absolutely hated it. Maybe if I read it now, it would be a different story, but it was absolutely terrible.
2)The best reading experience you have ever had?
Well, that would be Harry Potter, hands down. I was ten when the first one came out, so I had been reading HP for 10 years when #7 came out. It was a huge part of my childhood, and I love it to death! Also, I just love when I stumble upon a fabulous book. It's so rare that a book is completely amazing, and I feel lucky when I find one!
3) Which book has affected or influenced you the most so far?
Hmm...haha actually probably the Bible. After that, The Book Thief or The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
4) Have you ever read a book that you got really scared of?
I've been searching for a long time for a book that will scare the crap out of me, and I haven't really found it yet. Hell House scared me, but I wasn't really scared. If anyone has any recommendations, feel free to let me know!
5) What do you use as a bookmark?
I usually just fold over the page that I'm on. It's a bad habit, but I always lose bookmarks.
6) When do you usually read? At home, work, while cooking, in the morning, noon, afternoon, before you go to bed...?
I usually always read before bed. It's my little routine. Other than that, I read on my breaks at work or before class.
7) Do you remember the first book that you read?
That I actually read myself? My parents say that it was Hansel and Gretel when I was four. They read it so much to me that they thought I had it memorized, but then they gave me another book to read and I could read it.
8) Which do you prefer - paperback or hardcover?
I prefer paperback. They're cheaper and easier to handle. But I do have all my Harry Potters in hardcover, just because hardcover is more of a collectible thing...but then again, I have all the Harry Potters in paperback too...I'm just completely obsessed. It's the one series where I have multiple copies of the same books.
9) What are you currently reading? What page are you on?
I'm reading The Name of the Wind. I'm only at the beginning of it, but I'm already in love with it.
10) Do you ever leave "a mark" (deliberate and/or not deliberate) in your books? For example, write in them, underline quotes, coffee marks or food crumbs and etc.
Not really. If it's a textbook, then I might highlight or underline, but not in the book. It feels sacrilegious or something. If I like a quote in a book, I'll turn the corner down so I can come back to it later and write it in my journal.
11) Does the title, amount of pages and the cover affect you when you are considering a specific book? Not really. Especially not the amount of pages. I'm a fast reader, so I can take anything on. The cover of a book might catch my eye, and I'll read the back or the first couple pages to see if it looks interesting, but I won't buy a book based on its cover. I bought a book once based on its title. It was The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse. I still haven't read it, but a friend at work recommended it.
12) Do you ever browse through to the last pages in order find out the ending?
Nope. I never do that. Sometimes I will browse through a book to see if it will get better (like New Moon, for instance), but I never want to know the ending beforehand.
13) Has knowing the ending of a book (example: through spoilers or a movie) ever made you decide whether you will read the book or not?
Yes, because if it's a depressing ending, I don't know if I want to read it. I have to be in a certain mood to read a depressing book.
14) Is there a book that you have read more than five times? Oh yes. All the Harry Potters win that one. I've read all of those a crazy amount of times. I've read pretty much all my favorite books at least three times...
15) Have you ever been in an accident where the book was the cause? (for example, almost getting hit by a car when reading while walking, or having stacks of books falling on you from a bookshelf...)
Haha yes. I've actually fallen down the stairs and broken my toes numerous times because I had my nose buried in a book. And yes, I've almost been hit by a car because I was reading while walking.
16) Do you sell/give away your books or do you keep them, even though you don't like one of them?
I used to keep all of them, but we don't have room in our apartment, and we already bought a second bookshelf to feed my habit. So if I read a book and don't love it, I'll donate it to the Salvation Army.
17) Do you bring with you the book when needing to use the toilet? Do you ever read in the bathroom?
Nope, I never read while on the toilet. It seems weird to me. Haha. But I do occasionally read while I'm in the bathtub with the candles and everything.
18) Do you have some kind of book system, where you write down what you are reading, have bought, will read, will buy and etc? (goodreads doesn't count)
Oh, damn. I was going to say goodreads. Haha. If goodreads doesn't count, then nope. I just keep it all in my head.
19) Do you keep a reading diary/journal?
Part of my journal is dedicated to what I'm reading, and I also have a separate book quote journal.

Recently: Inkheart
Ever: Siddhartha
2) The best reading experience you have ever had?
Harry Potter. It took me while to get into the series (up until book 4 came out) but once I did, that was it. Part of it is definitely all the hype of midnight release parties and the anticipation, I've never had that experience with another series.
3) Which book has affected or influenced you the most so far?
Matilda. Roald Dahl
4) Have you ever read a book that you got really scared of?
No

Reciepts and other scraps of trash mostly.
6) When do you usually read? At home, work, while cooking, in the morning, noon, afternoon, before you go to bed...?
This is going to be embarrassing. I get to work forty minutes early so I can sit in the parking lot and read. I read on my lunch hour. I read books online while at work. I read when I go outside to smoke. I read at least an hour after work. Anytime I'm in the car and not driving, I'm reading - unless it's too dark (I have glasses because I read in the dark on car rides when I was young). I'm waiting for the day I get into audiobooks...So pretty much any of my waking hours I'm reading.

Page 140ish of The History of Love

Not the number of pages, but I definitely judge a book by it's cover.

I have only done this once, kind of. While reading Breaking Dawn I just wanted to make sure the rest of the book wasn't in Jacob's perspective.
13) Have knowing the ending of a book (example, through spoilers or a movie) ever made you decide whether you will read the book or not?

Not yet.
16) Do you sell/give away your books or do you keep them, even though you don't like one of them?

Yes. I have always done this.
