I am in the process of reading Game of Thrones by George RR Martin and I feel like I read every spare minute I have but I am never going to finish it. I guess I have gotten used to reading those 200-300 page books and this one seems to be forever long. So what is the longest (is that how I should word that?) book you have read?

I did read the Bible front to back but it took me a year. I read it with a friend using one of the one year through the Bible books. I knew that it was going to take me all year so I was not surprised. GOT is a page turner and I am loving it but it is taking forever.......

Lisa P Let's see...off the top of my head I have read Shogun, The Pillars of the Earth, and Shantaram. I loved Shogun and Pillars of the Earth. I enjoyed the first half of Shantaram, but not the second...could have been a much shorter book in my opinion. I know there are others, just can't think of them right now. I don't mind long length books as long as they draw me in and make me want to keep reading. Some shorter books I enjoy so much that I wish they could be longer.

I don't mind it being so long but I am surprised it has held my attention for this long. I hope the rest of the series is just as good as the first one. My goal for this year should have been to finish the series. LOL

Tricia | 74 comments The longest book that my stats shows as me reading is Game of Thrones. I must have been pretty into it because it took me less than a week to go through it's 801 pages. I am now trying to get through A Storm of Swords and it is 1,128 pages and I haven't even made it to page 100... I just cannot seem to immerse myself into this one like I did the others. I agree, my goal should have been simply to finish this series, I think it will take forever at this rate!

Dar B (ruminatingbulls) | 121 comments I read the Bible (KJV), a long, long time ago, straight through. But my biggest fiction book was probably It by Stephen King at 1090 pages. For me, the bigger they are the more I'm drawn to them, I truly love the epic adventures best. I averaged over 492 pages per book last year, and that was because I threw in a couple of short ones.
