Is anyone else reading this?
I was wondering what you thought about Andras' arrival in Paris and the depictions of how the 'social structure' of the university are set up???

I am at the point where he has just arrived at the station and found no one to meet him.
ah yes - Josef (sp?) is about to be introduced as a character - he's a bit detestable but ultimately very good to read...and later in the book you can kind of feel a bit sorry for him but not much!
I know that 600+ pages looks daunting - it did to me too and I owned the book for over a year before finally picking it up! - But I will emphasise that it never felt like an arduous read - it was pacey and was easy to get through - very readable and never felt like a chore. Later on after about half way the story gets so exciting that you simply can't put it down.
