Same as the other "discussion". Why only post this link?

Will IV What is the point of this?

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Ignore Will. He just wants to start a fight/an argument.

Will IV I'm sorry, I thought this was a discussion thread.

Will, I know you from that other discussion. You are trying to start an argument. The other one was bad enough, and I'm sorry I got into it. I had to defend my Christian beliefs. I have always felt the need to defend my Chrisitan beliefs.

You sounded very much as if you were "asking" anyone involved in this discussion what the point of it is. You said it yourself: it's a discussion thread. But you are alreayd involved in one, I know. I'd much rather you didn't get involved in this one.

After all, there's no convincing you of anything. You think/believe what you think/believe. We think & believe what we think & believe.

Will IV Well I'm sorry, but you don't get to say where and what I post, and I was asking the OP a legitimate question. And I'll ask it again, "What is the point of that hyperlink?"

My mind is never fully made up. In fact, I've changed my mind on my beliefs before based on the knowledge and evidence I've accumulated over the years.

You obviously haven't been paying attention to anything I've posted.

Will IV And if you actually followed the other Discussion from the beginning, you will see I was not the one instigating a debate, as is the case here. I asked a simple question, and you immediately attack me.

Then I'll warn people against you. Because I've seen what you post. You don't listen to anything anymore than I do. Actually, less than I do. Of that, I'm certain.

Will IV Actually, not only do I listen to everything you've said, but I've responded point by point, with evidence and logic, to everything you've said to me.

message 10: by Will (new) - rated it 2 stars

Will IV If by "listening" you mean "agreeing," then of course I don't "listen" to you, but I've read every point you've made, and was entirely on your side at one point in my life, so please, get off your high horse and realize that just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they aren't listening.

Hazel I've found Will to be very good at listening to what other people say, or in the case of online discussions, reading and absorbing what they're saying, and then his replies are very structured and address each point in turn. If he weren't listening (sic) then he would not be able to do such.

kendra, you cannot tell him not to post, and even if him posting upsets you, thats your problem, no-one elses. Its up to you to deal with it, whether that means grinning and bearing it, or simply not getting involved in a thread he chooses to post in (or stopping your involvement in a thread he joins that you're already in) is your choice, but he can post wherever he wants, as you can. Will hasn't told you not to post, or not to say what your think.

Interestingly, you jump in and tell people to ignore will as he's only here to start an argument when hios post basically said the exact same thing as yours, which is "what is the point in just posting this link with no explanation of why you've posted it?". You were arguing from the same side (if it could even have been called an argument yet)

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah. I know you're right, Hazel. If I could just figure out how to "leave" this - and other - conversation. :( But it refuses to make it so i don't receive notifications or something.
Sorry

Hazel If you really want to do something about it, but the stuff at the bottom of the posts isn't working, then contact the goodreads folks, and they'll see if theres a problem they can sort out

Thank you, Hazel. I didn't know about this.

C. J. Scurria Manny. . . I don't like to click on links. . . I'd rather hear writers' personal opinions.

C. J. Scurria Would you want to write on "A Broad Discussion on the Series" where you can either answer the question or write what you believe. . ???

I would love it if more people responded to that Discussion (I can't say anything on it yet. . . but I can if I edit the question. . .I don't want to do that)
