Two volumes devoted to a journey on foot through Europe just prior to World War II

Here's a gift of laughter you cheapskate kids can give your Dad for Father's Day.

Check out our five-star reviews. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007JPR40S Travel To the G-Spot by Steve Cohen
"A very, very funny book."
eBook also available at iTunes, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Diesel, Smashwords.
"Like" us at http://www.facebook.com/TravelToTheGSpot

He's written many:
Around the World in 80 Days: Companion to the PBS Series
Himalaya
Sahara
Michael Palin's Hemingway Adventure
Pole to Pole
Full circle
New Europe
And btw, I've read all of Palin's travel books and I enjoyed them very much.

Another popular travel author is Bill Bryson
A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail
Bill Bryson's African Diary
In a Sunburned Country (Australia)
Notes from a Small Island (England)
I'm a Stranger Here Myself: Notes on Returning to America After 20 Years Away
The Lost Continent: Travels in Small Town America
The trouble with Palin's books to me would be which country to count them for, as he spends a few hours, days, or maybe a week per country as he's travelling through each country.

Travel To the G-Spot -- The Guide Book

An interview I did for a Goodreads blogger named Jennifer is posted at http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/9.... Look for it under discussions.

Don't Tell Mum I Work On The Rigs, She Thinks I'm A Piano Player In A Whorehouse - a fun non-fiction book (the immature kind of fun) about a freelance oil rigger who works in various places around the world. The book in not as much about his job as it is about the people he meets and the experiences he has. Silly, but entertaining.

Have not read this, I just bought a 2nd hand copy of it and thought I'd share.

It's the true story of my and my Spanish husband's 3100-mile, 13-country, 13-month walk for peace. It is less of a travelogue and more of an intimate portrayal of the struggles (and triumphs) of two people who are trying to do some constructive for peace, and who believe that to create peace in the world, you have to begin by creating it within your own heart first. It's very much an inner journey wrapped up in the context of an outer adventure.
We walked through Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Serbia/Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and Israel. If you would like to see our exact day-by-day route, you check out our site: http://walkingforpeace.com/the-walk-t....
Hope you enjoy it!

I've added it to my reading list. It sounds really interesting... thanks for recommending it Susan!

I highly recommend this book! It is amazing. It even suggests books to read for every country, as well as food to eat, and music to listen to.

It's a very, very funny fictional memoir of a travel writer.
All best,
Steve

Thank you again!

But it is non-ficition and the author talks above all about the historical, political and economical situation. There are also some hints to legends and monuments and there are at least two chapters for every region like Azerbaijan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Taijikistan, Kasakhstan, Kyrgyzstan. I liked the book and it was interesting but I know that not everybody likes non-fiction.

Thanks for posting. I love non-fiction and am currently looking for anything decent about Kazakhstan, so I've added this to my list!

I hope you will like it. Remember that it isn't only about Kazakhstan! The whole book is a travel from the river Amur to Moscow though the author writes above all about the regions of the Caucasus.

Here are mine:
Around the World in 80 Days: Companion to the PBS Series
Full circle
23 Sweet FAs: Round the World with a Football Table
Teaching English in a Foreign Land
The Great Railway BazaarThe Pillars of Hercules

Seven copies of my new nonfiction book, "If Your Dream Doesn't Scare You, It Isn't Big Enough: A Solo Journey Around the World" are now part of the Goodreads Giveaway thru July 21, 2013.

This book answers the question of what happened when I sold my house, quit my job and traveled solo around the world. Little did I know that I was completing a pilgrimage that would change my life forever.

Looking forward to reading your reviews of my book - Kristine

The author's journey starts from Thailand and he goes to Laos, Burma, Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Cambodia, Vietnam; then he makes a long trip with the train from Mongolia crossing Russia in order to arrive in Italy. From here he goes to England, Germany, again Italy where he takes a ship to Singapore; then again to Burma in order to arrive again in Thailand where he lived.
In bold the places about which he writes more. It is an amazing book!

Hi everyone,
I'd like to introduce my new book about a bike ride around the world that I completed in 2011. The initial response on Amazon has been great and Id love to share it with you. My route took me through Europe, Asia and the USA and the book tells of the challenge, the people I met and the places I visited. Besides the magazine National Geographic Travel, is there any other magazines that are helpful to learn about different countries?

Try the cooking magazine 'Saveur', it includes a lot of cultural info. Or 'La Cucina Italiana' for Italy.
There are also a lot of good travel bloggers. Check out the Wordpress home page and then just search for travel blogs. Blogs can be more personal than magazines sometimes.
Great suggestion, Peter. I never thought to check Wordpress for blog listings. Thanks!

www.amazon.com/ under Books, enter voice of a voyage.Quote from back cover: "Whether floating in the sea eye-to-eye with a humpback whale, escaping pirates, or drinking tea in a bombed-out Eritrean alley with refugees, Doann takes you there."

In the middle of a 275 day trip around the world, our family spent 76 days in India.
“The extraordinary continues to be revealed to us relentlessly, and there are days here when it seems impossible that any of this is happening. It seems impossible that one day we will be back at home, going back to school and work, back to grocery shopping and meal preparation, summer and winter, friends and family. I wonder if we will be able to grasp the extraordinary in everything we do and see and have.”
