Amanda (flutterby32) | 54 comments I started my own bookshelf and it asks "why this book?" so I wrote why I was reading each book. It doesn't show up unless you click on view. Was I suppose to answer that? If not I won't on any other books I add.

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) If you look on the bookshelf, and see everyone's books they've added... there is a small green "about" below the book title. If you click on it, it'll show whatever was typed into the "Why this book?" field.

I didn't do that for all my books, but I did say for my Titanic book list that it's the 100th Anniversary of her sinking this year in there.

It will also show up on the group home page when that book is on the currently reading shelf. I think it's interesting to see why people chose the books they did and you can answer it for as many books as you want :)

Wow, I didn't know that it was the 100th Anniversary of The Titanic sinking this year! I have a book about that, I haven't read! So, another one to add to the list!! I went back to Belfast last year and wanted to see their amazing Titanic Museum, but was not opening till this year!

Missy (LittleMissMissy) | 19 comments I saw the Titanic Museum exhibit twice. Once in BC, Canada at the IMAX theatre museum(which was AMAZING!) and then the other time at a small local museum(definately not AMAZING, but it was fun.) If you ever have a chance to see the exhibit, do! It truly is amazing. I liked how they gave passports out with names on them and in the end you got to find out if your character that you were portraying lived or died during the sinking of the Titanic. I have two Titanic books that I will hopefully be reading this year.

Pandora (pandora1) | 35 comments Help! I was updating my books read -I have now read 4 - and the statistics showed that, but I clicked on something and now it states that I have read no books towards this challenge??

The challenge widget works with your personal profile. Go to your personal profile and put the book on the shelf that you created for the challenge widget (you can click "update my entry" in the challenge widget if you forgot what the shelf name is). Then make sure you have set the date read for that book and it should show up. Changing the shelves on the group bookshelves won't update your challenge widget. I hope that helps!

Pandora (pandora1) | 35 comments This is now driving me crazy. I have done all of the above and it is still not showing up!

That sucks that it's not working! Here's one more thing to try - if your personal bookshelf has more than one word in it, be sure to put dashes in between the words in the challenge widget. I had that problem at first and putting the dashes fixed it.

LiLaboti | 70 comments hey one quick question... i am trying to import books that i'm reading in Bengali to put in my dusty shelf challenge list... some of them are getting entered while some are not.. i found another way.. that is.. if there's already an author listed previously.. you can add more books under the name of that author.. i did the trick this way- i searched for an author and clicked on add more books for that author... and on the entry page i changed the name of the author too (since the option is for adding more boooks under the same name, the author name is set by default) along with putting in other info of the book that i want to enter... that took a lil swapping through links back and forth... but it worked... my question is how is this process different from importing books..??? as both requires putting in ISBN code..???

I'm going to be honest, Lilaboti. I have never imported books into Goodreads so I can't help you there. But good luck! I hope everything works out.

Denise (dulcinea3) | 307 comments Hi Susan, if you created a shelf within the group, and another under your profile, they are completely separate and you must update each one individually. The challenge uses the shelf from your personal profile. The one under the group is really just so that others in the group can see what you have on it. On the group shelf, if you see that a book is listed as being on anyone else's shelf as well, you should not change its status to current or read, but just leave it as to-read, since various people might read it at other times. What I have been doing is moving my books to current or read if they are on my group shelf only. I hope that makes sense!
