Johnathan Lin (soundofdestruction) | 1 comments I am looking for a red hard cover book,
I was looking at books during a library sale and noticed that the back of a book had a picture of the author that looked like my math teacher :

I forgot to return to the book and never got the name of the book.
I think this is a nonfiction book, possibly about history.
I wanted to get this book to give as a gift for my math teacher before I graduated.
I have tried reverse image search, amazon help and other forums. Help please.

No idea what the book is--but that's a Japanese painting behind the gentleman. Perhaps its an art book? Or antiques book?

Cheryl (cherylllr) It looks like it's next to something like "A dictionary of quotations" - could it be a translation of a philosophy book like 'sayings of Confucious?" or possibly The Art of War?

Amber (Daisymau) (daisymau) | 1911 comments I just posted the link to the picture on another website and asked if anyone knows who the author is.

Amber (Daisymau) (daisymau) | 1911 comments Someone said William Golding?

message 8: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) William Golding, author of Lord of the Flies, does, according to his picture here on GR, look something like that gent...

message 10: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Jonathan D. Spence does indeed write history about China...

It's not William Golding. It might be Jonathan Spence, although I'm not convinced of it.

If I were the OP I'd join one of the big History groups here and see if someone there knows.
