Nicola O. Haven't read Hamilton's books, but I have a couple of recs on this topic!

Dies The Fire, by S.M. Stirling, is the first book in an ever-growing post-apocalyptic, very slightly paranormal series. After the apocalypse, Stirling's new civilization grows up in isolated pockets and one of them features a charismatic Irish/Scots Wiccan woman who leads her coven through the crisis and establishes an influential community in the new order.

Yasmine Gaelnorn's Sisters of the Moon series relies heavily on Wicca for texture.

Alyssa Day's Warriors of Atlantis is one of those "Kitchen sink" series and includes witches as a powerful faction.

Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series has a number of Witches as main characters. Although she started out with werewolves I think the series more strongly focuses on the witches in later books.

Of course, Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series might be the best example.

Brandon (rattlehead) | 10 comments Well, Anne Rice has that Mayfair Witches series. I haven't read any of those yet, but I hear they're good.

Then there's the "Witch & Wizard" series by James Patterson. These are young adult books about a brother and sister living in a dystopian society (if I recall correctly) who have magical powers. I've read the first one and thought it was pretty good.

Searching here on Goodreads for "witches" turns up a LOT:

Of course, this is "witch" in the general sense, not Wiccan specifically.

Mini (minichakma) | 4 comments The Three Sisters Island Trilogy by Nora Roberts. :)

It has romance, witchcraft and a prophecy, and the three lead characters representing the Air, Earth and Fire elements :)

John (jpleutz) | 1 comments I enjoyed the first book in the "Witch and Wizard" series by James Patterson and look forward to reading the other two books in the series. I also think I read the first two books in the Mayfair Witches series and enjoyed them.

John Updike wrote 2 books about witches, the first on was "The Witches of Eastwick. and I read this one. Later on he wrote a book called "The Widows of Eastwick" and I plan on reading it some day.
