★Azhley★ (azhlizzle) | 25 comments Why is it that when someone reads a story that someone on here has written about Vampires they seem to think it sounds exactly like Twilight when it doesn't???

adi (restartaugust) | 125 comments ugh it's so annoying...

well, a lot of books are about vampires these days. so you just have to be careful, u know?

message 9: by ★Azhley★ (new)

★Azhley★ (azhlizzle) | 25 comments Well yea but my versions of vampires are diffrent form the twilight ones and so is my friends and i've had a lot of people say it sounds like Twilight but when you read my book it doesn't sound anything like Twilight but oh well i was just wondering why people thoguth that.

message 10: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
yeah ... i think it's just that, when ppl read the word "vampire" they automatically think of Twilight, even if the story is nothing like Twilight.

message 11: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 25, 2009 02:19AM) (new)

Well 2 b honest, just the fact that the charrie gets pregnant with a "vampire" sounds a bit like breaking dawn. Just that part at least, that simple fact of the story. The rest could be different, but when others read the book people would relate it, and say, "Oh hey! That's sort of like Breaking Dawn!"

Veronica (v_a_b) | 2889 comments Mod
Yeah, but when somethign is about wizards, nobody thinks 'this is like harry potter!'

It is ridiculous that people are like vampires=twilight. It is annoying.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

weeelll of course there's more than one book about wizards. But the fact that there's not a lot about vampires, and the fact that so many people are obsessed with twilight. . .

message 14: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
yeah ...
the other day i was in a book store, and i counted how many different books there were about vampires in the teen fiction section.
i counted thirty. THIRTY!!!

message 15: by adi (new)

adi (restartaugust) | 125 comments yeah. vampires do not sparkle. they're not alllllll like twilight, kiddos. someone told me that slip reminded them of twilight, and i was like, "what? it's NOTHING like twilight. they're note even real vampires. ughhh." it's really annoying.

message 16: by Sella, ov vey! i haven't checked this group in months. >< (new)

Sella Malin | 4530 comments Mod
wow, brigid. THIRTY?!?! that's a LOT!!

that kind of makes me feel bad...coz, like, theirs so many vampire stories out there these days, and i'm writing ANOTHER one...but whatever, i'm not going to let myself dwell on that.

and adi, how is slip ANYTHING AT ALL like twilight?!?! it's soooo different!! i don't even see how it's the slightest bit similar!! (p.s. emile and the rest of the gang aren't real vampires? i never knew that...)

message 17: by Sella, ov vey! i haven't checked this group in months. >< (new)

Sella Malin | 4530 comments Mod
whoa, brigid. THIRTY??!?!?!!? whoa...that makes me feel bad, since i'm writing a vampire story, and there's so many out there already...but i'm not going to bother myself about that.

adi, that doesn't even make sense!! how is slip like twilight in any way at all??!? it has no similarities with twilight AT ALL!!! completely different type of story!! geez!! (p.s., i didn't know that emile and his gang aren't real vampires...i suppose you haven't explained that yet, lol XD)

message 18: by ★Azhley★ (new)

★Azhley★ (azhlizzle) | 25 comments I am writing 2 vampire books one i had a dream about and my vampires don't sparkle, they only have one power which is to calm humans and cause sleepiness. Idk it is really annoying though. the other one i am writing is about my life but i added some twist and changes so yea.... I dont think mine sound anything like Twilight at least i hope it doesn't.

message 19: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod

message 20: by adi (new)

message 26: by adi (new)

adi (restartaugust) | 125 comments haha... i SWEAR that i'll have it up soon.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

well if you write a book about a girl who falls in love with a vampire (or vice versa), people are reminded of twilight! its kind of unevitable. (ha! ive always wanted to use that word, here's my chance! ok sorry that was random.)

message 28: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller sometimes I can't think of anything to say. How do you respond to a smiley face?

message 29: by ★Azhley★ (new)

★Azhley★ (azhlizzle) | 25 comments yea but they have been in love and he just "disapeared" one day

message 30: by ★Azhley★ (new)

message 31: by Veronica, What the neck!? (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) | 2889 comments Mod
*sigh* I have a feeling that this will go in circles.

And Adrienne, sorry to burst your bubble, but the word is INevitable, not UNevitable.

message 32: by Sella, ov vey! i haven't checked this group in months. >< (new)

Sella Malin | 4530 comments Mod
lol, roni, i think you're right...

and thanks adi!! you better...lol jk XD

message 33: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller yah it's INevitable

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

seriously?! crap.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

whats the difference: in, un. stupid language

message 36: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) I being agree. Language plus Grammar be is very much a lot not smart.

Xerxes Break(Vivian Ephona) (ephona) I HOPE mine doesn't sound like Twilight! I'm trying to make it as un-Twilight-y as possible! XD

message 38: by ★Azhley★ (new)

★Azhley★ (azhlizzle) | 25 comments thats how i was the movie wasn't as good as the book and thank you.

thats what i am kinda doing with my book making it not sound like twilight

Veronica (v_a_b) | 2889 comments Mod
And that's why we write realistic fiction instead of fantasy, so we don't sound like twilight.

message 41: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) Okay.

message 42: by Sella, ov vey! i haven't checked this group in months. >< (new)

Sella Malin | 4530 comments Mod
urgh. i can't write realistic fiction. or it'll turn into fantasy somewhere along the line...LOL XD

message 43: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1074 comments oh im fairly certain people could relate realistic fiction to twilight fairly easily...

Xerxes Break(Vivian Ephona) (ephona) Same here Sella! It's my signature writing style! Reality THEN fantasy!

Sella wrote: "urgh. i can't write realistic fiction. or it'll turn into fantasy somewhere along the line...LOL XD"

that's always what happens to me ... gah. talking stuffed pig. don't ask.

message 46: by Veronica, What the neck!? (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) | 2889 comments Mod
eh, that doesn't happen to me. I start something in one genre, and it stays in that genre.

And no, people could not relate realistic fiction to twilight very easily. The thing taht makes them think 'twilight' is vampires and romance.

VAmpires=fantasy

and romace = well, ROMANCE

So, not realistic fiction.

message 47: by Sella, ov vey! i haven't checked this group in months. >< (new)

Sella Malin | 4530 comments Mod
haha, brigid. you told me about the talking stuffed pig one. teehee. XD

i can write realistic fiction short stories- that's a safe area- but any realistic fiction longer than a short story i can't stick to. i get bored. XD

message 48: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller me too! I get bored...

message 49: by T.O.L.I. (new)
