Why is it that when someone reads a story that someone on here has written about Vampires they seem to think it sounds exactly like Twilight when it doesn't???

ugh it's so annoying...

I know its like Just BECAUSE IT HAS VAMPIRES IT DOESN'T MEAN IT HAS TO BE ABOUT TWILIGHT!

I knowq it really makes me mad me and my friend are both writing books and every one says it's like twilight but its not

My prologue to my first book is about my life but i have some twist added to it and its about me and imma vampire but i get pregnant but the guy is only like part vampire and I'm like omg cuz i hate when people do that it drives me crazy!!

Well yea but my versions of vampires are diffrent form the twilight ones and so is my friends and i've had a lot of people say it sounds like Twilight but when you read my book it doesn't sound anything like Twilight but oh well i was just wondering why people thoguth that.

yeah ... i think it's just that, when ppl read the word "vampire" they automatically think of Twilight, even if the story is nothing like Twilight.

Well 2 b honest, just the fact that the charrie gets pregnant with a "vampire" sounds a bit like breaking dawn. Just that part at least, that simple fact of the story. The rest could be different, but when others read the book people would relate it, and say, "Oh hey! That's sort of like Breaking Dawn!"

Yeah, but when somethign is about wizards, nobody thinks 'this is like harry potter!'

It is ridiculous that people are like vampires=twilight. It is annoying.

weeelll of course there's more than one book about wizards. But the fact that there's not a lot about vampires, and the fact that so many people are obsessed with twilight. . .

the other day i was in a book store, and i counted how many different books there were about vampires in the teen fiction section.
i counted thirty. THIRTY!!!

yeah. vampires do not sparkle. they're not alllllll like twilight, kiddos. someone told me that slip reminded them of twilight, and i was like, "what? it's NOTHING like twilight. they're note even real vampires. ughhh." it's really annoying.

wow, brigid. THIRTY?!?! that's a LOT!!

that kind of makes me feel bad...coz, like, theirs so many vampire stories out there these days, and i'm writing ANOTHER one...but whatever, i'm not going to let myself dwell on that.

and adi, how is slip ANYTHING AT ALL like twilight?!?! it's soooo different!! i don't even see how it's the slightest bit similar!! (p.s. emile and the rest of the gang aren't real vampires? i never knew that...)

adi, that doesn't even make sense!! how is slip like twilight in any way at all??!? it has no similarities with twilight AT ALL!!! completely different type of story!! geez!! (p.s., i didn't know that emile and his gang aren't real vampires...i suppose you haven't explained that yet, lol XD)

I am writing 2 vampire books one i had a dream about and my vampires don't sparkle, they only have one power which is to calm humans and cause sleepiness. Idk it is really annoying though. the other one i am writing is about my life but i added some twist and changes so yea.... I dont think mine sound anything like Twilight at least i hope it doesn't.

well if you write a book about a girl who falls in love with a vampire (or vice versa), people are reminded of twilight! its kind of unevitable. (ha! ive always wanted to use that word, here's my chance! ok sorry that was random.)

And that's why we write realistic fiction instead of fantasy, so we don't sound like twilight.

And no, people could not relate realistic fiction to twilight very easily. The thing taht makes them think 'twilight' is vampires and romance.

VAmpires=fantasy

and romace = well, ROMANCE

So, not realistic fiction.

i can write realistic fiction short stories- that's a safe area- but any realistic fiction longer than a short story i can't stick to. i get bored. XD
