I cant believe that Jack jumped in for her. I seriously thought that they would somehow figure out a way to stay together. It was a sad ending. I hate sad endings. -But I still do want to read the next book, because Im hoping that Becks will find a way to get Jack back. :)

As lame as this sounds I did not see what Jack was gonna do for Nikki. I can't wait for the next book!

I saw it coming just wished it wouldn't. Im a sucker for tragically sickningly happy endings!!
I didn't realise there would be a second book, that'll be one to look out for.

I honestly didn't see it coming. I dunno why. Im really interested to see the next book. Im confused I like both Jack & cole :/

@Rachel- Ditto about happy endings :D

@book lover- I don't like Cole, he has comprehension issues and boundary issues. But, I sort of feel bad for him. I think that he really does love Nikki, but he has a weird way of showing it, and he doesn't know how to act. He is such a jerk sometimes, and I don't think he realizes it. He is confusing and weird, and honestly, I don't really understand him.

I know! I'm glad That the author surprised me, but I didn't expect it at all. I almost thought maybe Will wouldve gone. I hope she doesn't drag it out and not get jack back until the finl book. Maybe Becks will go to the everneath and save jack and Meredith! But really a year is to long to wait!

Exactly ! I won't lie im kinda intrigued by this guy ! But jack Caputo is simply amazing

I was in total denial about the ending. I saw it, but refused to believe in, even refused to read the last pages!!! :(

Jack is the sweetest guy ever! I totally cried, I really did. I mean, sure it was bad for him to go instead of Nikki, but still.

I loved the book! but the end was soooo sad! i still can't decide if i like Jack (Because hes amazing!)or if i like Cole (Because i think he really does love nikki and i feel bad for him)! i cannot wait for the swecond book :)

JACK DIES !

Well, good to know! I hate sad endings and I almost bought this book. Geez. What is going on with the reviewers lately? They'll expound ad nauseum on every bit of minutia, EXCEPT a character death? Like, THAT's not important!

**SPOILER ALERT** only read this if you want to spend nine hours falling in love with a character who gets himself killed in the last chapter.

GET A CLUE REVIEWERS, nobody cares about the book's cover art *OR* if it is similar to Twilight. Tell us the good stuff. Will we have a goofy grin on our face afterwards or will we want to fling the book across the room and dive into a tub of chocolate ice cream instead? GAWD. I can't believe he dies.

@Chrissy- If reviewers give something so big away in their review, then nobody will want to read it because they already know whats going to happen in the end. Even though its sad that jack dies, I think the book is still good, and still worth reading. :)

i really dont think his dead this is a series book so we'll probably see him again

@ hannah what do you mean i thought he took her place and isnt that what the whole greek mythology undertones the greek gods found a way to overcome so they will to i dunno this is just my speculation

And yeah, I agree. But, I didnt think he actually died, he's for sure going to come back.

I was totally expecting a sacrifice. In fact I was making a very short list of who it could be. I thought it might be Will but NOT Jack. That totally surprised me! That made me go "WHA..."

I also expected someone to sacrifice themselves for her but i didnt expect it to be Jack really.. :S but i do think they will find a way to be together again. :)

Even though it broke my heart I know Jack will be back soon so its okay.

yes, i agree, because i thought that too! I still can't believe he did that!!!

I was crying so hard at the end. I knew it was coming though when they were talking about being able to sacrifice someone in their place. Im torn. I like Cole and Jack but I like Cole a little more. But I am NOT happy that Jack is gone for the time being. Anyone know when the next book is coming out???

I honestly thought the fact that Jack sacrificed his life for the girl he loved was a lovely ending to the book. Plus, I don't think he's going to remain 'dead', the next book will most likely follow Nikki on her journey to rescue Jack.

On a side note: as soon as we learned that Nikki owed a debt to the Everneath, I automatically assumed Cole would fill it. That would solve all their problems... and Cole would go away.

exactly what I was thinking. And he also was that confident to save her. I mean, what other human boy couldn't?
She'll still be dreaming of him no matter what, so I bet there'll still be a bit of room for them to find each other again. :D cant wait !!!!

Well i thought that Cole was going to jump in not Jack i was like crying the whole time, so sad, so sad:( But i can't wait for the second one so excited, so excited:)!!!!!!!!!!!!!
