C.C. | 29 comments So, the movie is coming up, and a lot of people are following the craze again, you know like in Twilight. I dont know, I think Im a bit disappointed because they were only gonna read the book because a movie is coming up.
What do you guys think about this?

Chelsea Denisse (chelseadenisse) ********WARNING RANT***************

I feel exactly the same way, my friends are all like that and before they even knew about the movie they thought reading was stupid, now that they're reading it, they all squeal about how much the movie will be compared to the book, and all I do is nod but its so annoying sometimes I just want to yell at them and tell them how wrong what they're doing is. If theres no movie they dont read the book, it gets on my nerves and whenever I say something about it they say 'But we love the book just as much as you do' and that just gets me even more mad. I read the book because it sounded interesting not because of a stupid movie. But I hate when people read the book because of the movie and call themselves avid readers.

******END OF RANT********

C.C. | 29 comments I know what you guys feel, I love recommending books to my friends and I especially remember recommending HG, sadly they didn't even gave it a chance and now that a movie is coming up, suddenly they want to know what the story was about and what I think of the series. They even made fun of me because I was so preoccupied with my reading...
*I apologize for the rant*

Mychele (mycheleanjelica) Well I can speak from both sides. Knew about the books before the movie was announced and I tried countless times to read it but could never get past the third chapter, so I gave up. Then they annouced the movie and I was determined to read it because I know all the good elements of the book are lost in movies. Again I could not get past the fifth chapter. Then I got the audiobooks and mind opened up to them. So I don't feel there is anything wrong with discovering a book late. Sometimes movies put the books on a platform and that attracts a new audience to the books. And sometimes it's gives people a push to want to get through it.

As far a people making fun they did it to me with Harry Potter then wanted to know all the hidden meanings so I said READ the Book lol.

But as readers we get the best part of the story kind of like the silent brothers(from TMI and ID) we know the back story and all the little nuggets the movie leave out.

I always tell people the books are better than the movies. I'm glad u are this passionate about it.

Bryan (airithauthor) | 2 comments I feel like they are trying SOOOOOO hard to push the movie and hoping to God it will be the new Twilight....something artificial about the whole thing (IMO)
