Sandee is Reading (sandeeisreading) I'm sure at some point there were books you disliked. Enumerate the books you didn't like and tell us why.

message 2: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown- Not really interested in the story.
Screwtape Letters by C.S Lewis- got bored.
The Secret by Rhonda Byrne- good looking book but the content. uggh. not really that good.

Sandee is Reading (sandeeisreading) oh my. Haven't read those books yet. Will stir away from them. =p

message 4: by Beatrice (last edited Mar 14, 2012 10:49AM) (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) especially "The Secret"..
and I Don't Know How She Does it (Movie Tie-in Edition) by Allison Pearson

Sandee is Reading (sandeeisreading) i read da vinci code though and i kind of liked it a bit but not that much. =p

I didnt like Evernight (Evernight, #1) by Claudia Gray . It was a bit boring and main character was whiny. Didnt finish it.

message 6: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) Oh my. I have Evernight (Evernight, #1) by Claudia Gray xD will try to read.

Idk Da Vinci Code didn't impress me much. will try to read if I'm in the mood.. :)

Partly agreed on Dear John. I hate Savannah >:| Poor John

Lorna-Rose Davidson | 18 comments Because so many books are part of a series and because the series rarely ever improves I'm going to cheat a little but my 5 least favourites are
The Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer. - It's fashionable to hate this series but even before that I could never get over the dangerous message that Stephanie Meyer was sending to young girls: having a boyfriend confirms your whole existence and you should try and be exactly what they want you to be.
The House of Night Series by PC and Kristen Cast. - I just think that they are really badly written.
The Vampire Diaries by LJ Smith - similarly badly written.
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown - and all other Dan Brown books because they all follow the same basic plot which was rubbish to begin with.
Succubus Blues(Georgia Kincaid) by Richelle Mead - I loved the Vampire Academy series but this series and this book just fell flat; it was all too forced and Georgia as a protagonist was too hard to relate to.
Shiver(Wolves of Mercy Falls) by Maggie Stiefvater - I just thought that these were really mushy and cliché.

Sandee is Reading (sandeeisreading) i haven't read the other books but i could understand your point regarding dear john. =p

But i did like hannibal. A bit.

I stopped reading Vampire Diaries.. it was kind of repetitive.

message 11: by Jay (last edited Mar 14, 2012 04:01PM) (new)

Jay Halo (Halo, #1) by Alexandra Adornetto Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma Crossing Lines by Paul Volponi The Gift (Witch and Wizard, E 2) by James Patterson Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2) by Richelle Mead

I didn't like halo because the main character is an idiot throughout the whole book. I didin't like forbidden because its about and a brother and sister having sex together so I found it disturbing. I didn't like frostbite because it didn't meet my expectations. Same reason I didn't like the it wasn't a good sequel. The book crossing lines was annoying and boring. The author has written some really cool books so I gave it a chance. I was utterly disappointed.

message 12: by Lorna-Rose (new)

Lorna-Rose Davidson | 18 comments They really were just awful; sometimes the plot didn't even make sense! I only got to book three before I gave up, Beatrice

message 13: by Adriana (new)

Adriana I don't know about top 5 but there are two books I hated.

Perfect Chemistry (Perfect Chemistry, #1) by Simone Elkeles The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

message 14: by Jay (new)

Jay Why do you hate Perfect Chemistry?

Well i didn't think i liked him as a character. Its just that i love my sort of thrill read once in a while. =) i never really found him as sympathetic. =p

Sandee is Reading (sandeeisreading) @jay: i didnt really hate halo but you're right, Bethany's an idiot. maybe if she wasnt the main character i would have enjoyed it better.

message 17: by Mansi (new)

Mansi (DevilRebel62) Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie by Ally Condie
It was too boring for me, but I manage I finish it off. Although I am totally for Xander, I still found him a bit annoying as well as Ky. I am planning to purchase the sequel, Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie sometime soon just to see if there is an improvement.

i hate series that start off amazing and then start to suck because it feels like the author is trying to finish off the series.
like Blood Promise (Vampire Academy, #4) by Richelle Mead and Afterlife (Evernight, #4) by Claudia Gray

message 19: by Adriana (new)

Adriana Jay wrote: "Why do you hate Perfect Chemistry?"

I just felt like she was saying how hard her life was and the author wasn't really showing it. It felt fake that way and all they wanted to do was have sex with each other. It wasn't really a relationship for me.

message 20: by Jay (new)

message 21: by jia (new)

jia (jiannemsoriano) The House Of Night Series - P.C and Kristin Cast.

The first few books were okay, even though I don't like the plot. But the series just became bigger and it's just pure nonsense to me. Especially the whole romance in the book. No offence but how many guys has Zoey had since the book one? I lost one. It's just so annoying. And I have no idea where the plot is going.

I can't quite put why so many readers like this series but well, I don't.

Yeah, exactly. A lot of guys, I'm still reading the series because I don't like not finishing series but I'm mostly just skimming it. I have no idea what's going on, plus that complicated love life of hers.

message 25: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) True that. I was like, Why can't she choose one? She's annoying @ 4th book.

for me the series was good. I enjoyed it somehow.

message 26: by Mansi (new)

Mansi (DevilRebel62) I liked the drama, but I hate Zoey. I also hate how they're dragging the series... I think 13books.

too many names -__-

message 36: by Valencia (new)

Valencia (empowered) I generally don't dislike a book. I'm the type of person that always find some good aspect of a book. However, I do have like 2-3 books that really just frustrated me:

Ascend (Trylle Trilogy, #3) by Amanda Hocking This book is the last in it's series, and it mad me really mad. I think this book truly made my dislike the whole 'love triangle' thing. I gave it 3 stars.

The King of Torts by John Grisham This book had a lot of potential, but in the end was a major let down. It was extremely anti-climatic and made me realize just how stupid people can be with money.

Hunted (House of Night, #5) by P.C. Cast I gave this whole series 3 stars. It had soooooo much potential soo much. Now it's just long winded and pointless and the epitome of what's wrong with young people today. I mean I had so much hope!!! Only to be disappointed....... I stopped at this book I think. I don't even know all the crap just ran together to me.......

i absolutely hate books where the author stuffs up the whole series with one really crap book!! like .. i absolutely loved the mortal instruments .. but i think she could have left it at City of Glass .. but she's kind of dragging out the whole series with the next 3 books :/ but ughh i still cant stop reading it hahah

Totally agree with you there! I still have not read the City of Fallen Angels because I don't think I'll like it but still pretty excited for the City of Lost Souls.

I love all her works but i think it should have ended in City of Glass.
