We almost done with our first month of the GeekMom Book Club! I'll be posting questions that involve the whole book next week.

For now, here are this week's questions:

The Hobbit has Bilbo and the dwarves facing many different monsters along their journey. Trolls, goblins, wargs, spiders along with a dragon. If you had to pick one of these monsters to face, which would you? And how would you try to defeat is? Do any of these monsters scare you more than the others?

If I had to face one of these monsters I would so face the spiders. I have taken care of tarantulas in my old job so they don't scare me as much. If I were to try to defeat them, I would purchase bug bombs, put my ring on and run. Wait one day in a lovely corner of the woods and poof they're dead! :) I didn't think I would be scared of the goblins as much as I did but I remember something about them when I was younger that bothered me. Just the feeling but not exactly that scared me.

I'm not unusually arachnophobic, but the scene with the spiders probably creeped me out the most. There were so MANY of them and they moved so FAST and their webs were so POWERFUL!

But as for what I'd face? Really? I have to face one? Well, I'd SAY I'd want to face Smaug, but "face" in this case really means "hide in a corner and just watch. WOW. A DRAGON!" And then I'd try to sweet-talk my way out of a confrontation. Probably wouldn't work. But I WOULD HAVE SEEN A DRAGON, so that's okay.

I'd probably pick Smaug too - but partly because I think he's such a neat character.

The goblins freak me out a little - more because of the 80's cartoon based on the Hobbit. Those goblins were scary to me!

You know...that might be the "scared" feeling I had while reading it! I felt like when I was reading it that the little one inside me was scared of them. It might very well have been the cartoon!

The goblins bothered me the most. Not because of what they are, but because Bilbo doesn't know his way around while he's facing them. I hate the feeling of being lost and knowing that a wrong turn could be deadly.

I'd totally face Smaug, even if I failed, he's a very interesting dragon.

Hmm thats a difficult one I think if I had to face one it would probably be the spiders. I would defeat them by running and hiding lol
