Alex's presence doesn't really add anything substantive to the book in my opinion. The lack of Brethern presence "de-fanged" this book. It just wasn't as gritty, dark and twisted.
I am currently finishing Unholy Ghosts & Dead of Night for March challenges.
TBR for April:
Magic Bleeds (Buddy Read)
Fire Baptized (Buddy Read)
Sacrificial Magic
Chase in Shadow
@Willowbe: I will be reading the Amy Lane book too.

I want to read this too (since I have ALL of the other books & have them in hard cover too) but IDK if I can with the reviews I've read AND with my lack of enthusiasm for these books since the last 2 have disappointed me. (BTW ... Hi everyone I'm new :D)
So ... I'm searching for something to read (or I'll finish my re-read of the Anita Blake series)

Series do have the tendency of doing that ... though I LOVE when they are consistently good ... I had the opportunity to buy this and still haven't ... I might wait & wait & wait until the next one comes out ... it's not like I won't/don't have TONS of other books to read

Kingdoms of Dust by Amanda Downum: the male lead is a genie trapped in a body that has "dark mahogany" skin. He sounds incredibly fine! A Parnrml Fsty set in a para-arabic country; so the people are brown. Not sure if it counts as IR though the female lead is from a para-european country.
Intruder CJ Cherryh- Too bad the cover makes the lead look old and fat. In my mind, he is so the kind of white man i like! Fantasy, with him living among a race of humanoids who are 7 ft tall with skin blacker than night and eyes that glow like a cat's in the dark. They are in most ways human except they don't feel Love. Or do they? Bren has a lover among one of his body guards, female. Again, not sure if it counts as IR since it's another species.
Chase in Shadow, by Amy Lane- extremely graphic, shockingly frank, very romantic m/m,typical A.L. story and themes. Understandably not to the tastes of most ladies here
Sorry, can't figure out how to add the book cover hereKingdoms of DustIntruderChase in Shadow
