So umm, how does this work? Do we just ask here or message someone? :D

I enjoy buddy reads but sometimes I feel like I read rather quickly and I don't want the other person to feel rushed.

This is the folder where people who want to buddy read create a thread to do so.

So Sarah, if you want to read a specific book with some of your friends this is the place to come. Either create a thread or post here and someone will set it up for you :)

Some of the other members requested this as they plan to read Shelly Laurenston's About a Dragon soon.

I'm sure that any member would be welcome to join any buddy read listed.

Would anyone be interested in a buddy read of Deborah Cooke's most recent or Kresley Cole's ? They are both books I've been meaning to read since January and I really want to get to them in April.

Tempting, tempting. This one has been sitting on my TBR pile for about two years now! But I told myself I need to catch up on some other series before I start another new one. And I really think the next new UF I start is going to be either or . Of course, I've been saying that since January and all these other books keep getting in the way. Anyone interested in a buddy read of one of them in May?

Christine - I'd be up for reading in May. I keep hearing great things about Elemental Assassin, and I've had the first book for probably at least a year now.

Cool! I'm thinking I'll get to it in the last half of the month. I have a standing buddy read on the 15th, but I should be good to go anytime after that.

I've got Insurgent on hold at the library, so I hope to read that one at the beginning of the month, too. Plus is out next week.

Unfortunately, I pre-ordered from Amazon, and it looks like I won't get it until the second week of May. (Sometimes it's early though...) I wish we could get pre-ordered books right on the release date...

I think I'm maybe #4 on the wait list, and my library is usually good about getting books into circulation on their release dates, so I should have it that week. I've got three weeks to read it before I have to return it, so I can wait until the second week and do a group read with you. Yeah!

Mine have too, I get 5 new notifications but really only one thread has been updated.... can't wait until it's fixed, I have commented on too many threads to keep up without notifications!!

Exactly! I'm sure I'm missing out on some discussions because of it. My notifications have been coming but out of order. I just make sure to look through the whole list to find recent updates.

I've actually read it before, right when it came out (last May). Since it's been a year since I read it, I was thinking of doing a re-read. I was thinking maybe during the first week of May or so, right before I start Insurgent. Thoughts?? I could start earlier if you wanted.

I've had Spider's Bite sitting in my TBR pile for at least 2 years now. Maybe if I'm doing a buddy read I'll pull it out and read it. I've heard good things about this series.

I could probably squeeze in or around May 10/11, or later in the month maybe around May 25. Hmmm....and then I can use June to catch up on all these new series I'm suddenly starting.

Christine, your way more organzied than me. Most of the time I can't organzie my books that far in advance. I never know what I want to read until I have finished the current book I'm reading.

I hope they get these glitches fixed soon it is getting so frustating. I had to post this three times before something other than what I was replying to would show up.
Goodreads we love you but please please do something about these problems!!

I may seem organized but my reading plans usually fly out the window. I'll try to plan what books I want to read in a given month, for different monthly challenges. If I'm lucky, I manage half of them because I end up changing my mind or am not in the mood for a certain book. But if I'm committed to a buddy read, then I have to read it. And these are all series I've been wanting to try for ages.

Well I feel better, I try to pull ones that have been sitting in my TBR shelf for a while and ones that I really want to try, but they don't always grab me at the time I go to read them.
But as you said if I'm committed to a buddy read then I'll read. I'm going to pull them out and have them waiting so we can read together. I've never done a buddy read before so this should be fun.

Seeing as there's more people lined up to read around May 20th or so, should we start a thread for it?

If you guys read Red-Headed Stepchild after May 20th (I'm graduating that day!!) like May 21st I can join, and I'd love to since I've owned the book for about two years and haven't read it yet. lol

How about I just go ahead and set up threads for Red-Headed Step Child and Spider's Bite since those both seem popular and folks interested in each book can figure out when to read them in their individual threads?
