Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments What book was your favorite?

message 2: by Haley (new)

Haley The seventh! With the first being a close second. But I love them all SO much. It still amazes me how good these books are, and I've been reading them since the first one came out. JK Rowling sure knows how to tell a story.

message 3: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments I am sad to say I didn't read them until the sixth book movie was coming out. I loved them all, but I think I would have to say the fourth was my favorite with the 7th being the second.

message 4: by Haley (new)

Haley Oh really? Why the fourth?

message 5: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments I think it is the turning point between them still being kids, but life it getting more serious. It had just the right amount of adventure and danger with important people dying but nobody caring.

message 6: by Haley (new)

Haley "Important people dying and nobody caring"? Hahaha! But that's definitely true. It is the turning point of the series. I guess I never really thought about that.

message 7: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Yeah, like nobody cared when Cedric died. I think people were sad and all, but there was no huge deal about it. Not like Sirius and Fred at all.

message 8: by Haley (new)

Haley Well we didn't really have time to care about Cedric much before he was killed. He was just kind of there. We had Sirius for a few books and he was awesome in them, and then we had Fred through the whole series so had plenty of time to get attached to him. I think his death is JK just proving a point about Voldemort; I don't think we're supposed to care much. And if we were... whoops!

message 9: by Christa VG (last edited Mar 28, 2012 08:59PM) (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments I suppose so. I heard she was thinking about killing Ron! That would have been too tragic.

Why do you like the 7th the most?

message 10: by Haley (new)

Haley I know, right?! I heard that too, that she was thinking about killing him off somewhere in the middle of the series. She might have had a riot on her hands...

There's this website: http://hpotterfacts.tumblr.com/
And it had all these fun Harry Potter facts that are really interesting. I recommend checking it out.

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Cool! I will.

message 12: by Lyss (last edited Mar 29, 2012 07:12AM) (new)

Lyss (lyss4music) | 30 comments Prisoner of Azkaban was my ALL TIME favourite, mainly because we got to meet Sirius XD I hated number 5 though, because he died and because Umbridge was soo EVIL! Lol, other thab no. 3, no.7 was my favourite, even though all my favourite characters died (Snape, Hedwig, Lupin, Tonks, Fred)

message 13: by Haley (new)

Haley I know, I hate that they all died, even though it probably gave more meaning to the book and the battle than it would have other wise had. And I do love Sirius. The fifth was my least favorite because Harry was pretty much a jerk the whole book. But I loved Dumbledore's Army!

message 14: by Lyss (last edited Mar 29, 2012 08:47AM) (new)

Lyss (lyss4music) | 30 comments SAME HERE! Yeah, but did Lupinand Tonks HAVE to die ;(...I get why she did it tho....
Dumbledores Army was awesome!

message 15: by Haley (new)

Haley I felt that way about a lot of characters: "was it really necessary to kill them too?" Ah well.

message 16: by Lyss (new)

Lyss (lyss4music) | 30 comments Hahaha, oh well. Nothing to be done about it, I suppose XD

message 17: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments There are only tow books which I have ever made me cry. One was The Shining Company and the other was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. There I sat eating my lunch then I had to put the book down and go bawl my eyes out for a little about Fred. Amazingly enough though? Those two are in my top ten favorite books.

message 18: by Haley (new)

Haley Oh my gosh, I love books that can make me cry! I'm always impressed when the author can make me feel like that. I cried more than once in HP7, and Ender's Game and Delirium both made me weep :D And they are all in my top 5 books of all time!

message 19: by Lyss (new)

Lyss (lyss4music) | 30 comments Im not one to cry very easily, and Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows are the only books that made me cry

message 20: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments I was surprised I didn't cry when Dumbledore fell. Only Fred got to me. It is pretty hard to get me to cry for a book.

message 21: by Lyss (new)

Lyss (lyss4music) | 30 comments Hahaha, surprisingly I didn't cry when Fred died, only when Snape and Lupin & Tonks died.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Surprisingly I felt gruesome sorrow, but never shed a tear.

message 23: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments I haven't seen the last two movies yet, but I saw the death scene of Fred, Tonks and Lupin on youtube, and I was crying as soon as I saw Fred's face.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

To be honest, from movie five onward they all suck with a capital S.

message 25: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Aww I'm sorry to hear that. I have only seen the first five (and of those only seen them once.)and am so looking forward to the others.

message 26: by Haley (new)

Haley If you like the first five, you'll like the rest too. After a while I was able to start thinking of the movies as separate entities from the books, so I quite enjoyed all of them!

message 27: by Lyss (new)

Lyss (lyss4music) | 30 comments NO! The last ones are AMAZING XD

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

No, I liked the first four actually. Everything with David was crappy

message 29: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments That is a good trick! I had to do that with the last two Narnia movies.

message 30: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments David?

message 31: by Lyss (new)

Lyss (lyss4music) | 30 comments David??? WHo the hell is David...

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

The director dudes!

message 33: by Lyss (new)

Lyss (lyss4music) | 30 comments Ohhhh right haha

message 34: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Oh OK, sorry I know very few of the names of the people behind the scene, and even the actors name. I thought they could have cast most of the main charters way better. I love Tom Felton though, he is brilliant!

message 35: by Lyss (last edited Mar 30, 2012 10:39AM) (new)

Lyss (lyss4music) | 30 comments Hahah, No, I love the cast as it is XD

Lol, I know all the actors names (or most of them):
Daniel Radcliff, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Sir Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, Maggie Smith, Raplh Fiennes, Tom Felton, Robbie Coltrane

message 36: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments HAha good for you, I am sure that will come in handy one day ;D

message 37: by Lyss (last edited Mar 31, 2012 01:59PM) (new)

Lyss (lyss4music) | 30 comments Nice sarcasm! XD I love sarcasm hahaha

message 38: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Thanks, my house if full of it, so I have sort of just picked it up.

message 39: by Haley (new)

Haley I love it when people are sarcastic! It's pretty much my favorite. I do wish it was easier to convey via the computer though... I'm sarcastic a lot, but it's easy to miss online :D

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm queen on that!

message 41: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments I know! Body language has a lot to due with it, I think there is a sarcasm tag you put your sarcastic words in, but I don't know what it is.

message 42: by Haley (new)

Haley There really just needs to be a sarcasm font available.

message 43: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Haha why don't you patent that idea.

message 44: by Haley (new)

Haley I shall!! It will be my back-up plan if the whole becoming-an-author thing falls through! :)

message 45: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments LOL always good to have aback up plan! But thinking about your back up plan it might be better to have a back up back up plan :D

message 46: by Haley (new)

Haley What? You don't think my font idea is fool-proof?! I'm offended :)

message 47: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments You sound like you are, with the bog smiling face and all.

Back to Harry Potter, I think Neville one one of my favorite charters. He is so brave and sweet, really trying to push past his past but always being respectful to everyone and visiting his parents. That must be so hard. He is a hero!

message 48: by Haley (new)

Haley I can't believe the movies left the Neville-visiting-his-parents-in-the-hospital scene!!!!!! It was SO FREAKING GOOD in the books!! So important! I love Neville, and Matthew Lewis did a wonderful job playing him in the films.

I also think Luna Lovegood was such a sweet character!

message 49: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Oh yeah I really liked Luna too. I think she was well cast in the movies and she did a good job getting her just right.

yeah! I'm really waiting for the scene when Neville visiting his parents :(
most of all, the series is creative but I love the first of this HP series, both book and film.
