♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ i didn't like the series.

Lauren ** spoiler alert ** Although I love this series I was somewhat disappointed with the last one. Actually let me rephrase that I was disappointed in the end of the book I feel like she left so many loose ends LIKE...
1. What happened with Isabel and Cole
2. How did the wolves adapt to the peninsula
3. Do they find a cure
4. Does Grace go to college
5. Does Oliva's family ever know the truth
6. Does sam take the job at the crooked shelf
7. Do Sam and Grace ever get married

and I really feel like there could have been a whole other book to the series. Overall I really enjoyed this book there was plenty of suspense and twists and It was not alj about Sam and Grace. One thing I really like about these series is how Mrs. Stiefvater has everybody's point of view so you know how everybody is feeling. I recommend this series to everyone its not your typical werewolf story.

Chris I know the series left many of us unsatisfied but in a way doesn't that kind of define how good the series was? In a way it left us off with so many possibilities. I liked it but hated not knowing the definite ending.

KHBBSTerra You know,if you think of it as a Romeo&Juliet scene. It's not so bad

Morgan Bertolino The first one was the best, and I started Forever but never finished it. It was a disappointment.

Morgan Webber The author should write another book or even a short story about how characters develope and the plot is resolve some how. Especially with Isabel and Cole. I was so caught up in their relationship.

Shauna The first book was o.k. but overall the series was pretty bad. I barely got through the last one and honestly was just glad it was over.
It wasn't really surprising that the author chose not to give a definite ending or answers judging by the other books. They didn't go anywhere either. And the characters all sounded identical. I kept getting confused as to who was talking:D

Leca Like Lauren wrote: "1. What happened with Isabel and Cole." - well that's the only thing I am intrested in. ;-)

She would sell sooooo much more books if she wrote a spin-off series, from Isabella and Cole's point of view...although i didn't like the series, i still think i might give the spin-off series a try if she made it

-Did anyone notice how often the Name Isabelle Comes up in YA Fantasy?

Isabella Swan-Twilight Saga
Isabelle Culpeper-Wolves of Mercy Falls series
Isabelle Lightwood-The Mortal Instruments series

I Just thought it was interesting....

but sam isnt cured just like Grace wasn't.

Allie I thought that the ending was goood.... but it left me a little confused.... I like it a lot.... just like I loved the series..... The whole series was really good but sad and made me cry.... but I thought the ending was goooood......

Vicky i really liked the series but i didnt really like the ending at all. it was confusing and i didnt really understand what was happening and why.i would really really like it if maggie stiefvater would write an epilogue or like a little spin off or something to tie up the loose ends

Vicky Alexia wrote: "Lauren wrote: "** spoiler alert ** Although I love this series I was somewhat disappointed with the last one. Actually let me rephrase that I was disappointed in the end of the book I feel like she..."

I COMPLETELY AGREE

Jordan I liked the ending but I think it was a little too open ended and I think that they didn't really tell us what happened. I liked to think that they performed the cure on her and that she survived through it and Sam and Grace lived happily ever after!

message 15: by Tess (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tess I was so FREAKING out when I thought Cole was dead. And then he wasn't, and i was so mad at the author for making me have an anxiety attack.

Tess ROFL

Lauren Readsalot I think that this book should've had a happy ending. At least had an epilouge or something like this "Sam and Grave got married and had bunches of kids, Grace and Sam both have a degree(Grace with a vetinary degreeso that she can take care of the wolves in their charming cabin on the peninsula and Sam with a business degree so he can run the crooked shelf, which he and Grace own), Cole and Isabel are married and traveling the world with a baby on the way (extremely happy) and Olivia is now a wolf all the time (because, if I remember right, she wanted to be) and they found the cure.

message 18: by Kim (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kim Smith I loved the series but I wasn't happy with the way it ended. Too many things not finished and the uncertainty of where they are now living and then it just ends. I think we fell in love with Sam & Grace and our love and devotion deserves to have an ending worthy of the story.

Hannah I totally loved the series but have a love/hate relationship with the ending of Forever. Maggie left the end open and that was an interesting way to end the series. You can make your own perfect ending so you are happy with the book. The thing is you don't definitely know that there is a cure. Isabelle and Cole should of had their happily everafter. Both of them had been through so much in their lives. They deserved a better ending. After all of the tradgedy there should have been somethingelse happy. Maggie is one of my favorite authors but she could have done better.

message 20: by Haidi (last edited Jun 10, 2012 03:30AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Haidi From how I took it, Isabelle and Cole did end up together. I know she was sent away, but she still finally told him she wanted him. I understood it as a happy ending for them.
I think it was a clever ending.

Ember I agree with Message 4 there where a lot of lose ends

Kelia I was completely pissed off by the ending. It was a challenge just trying to finish the series. The fact that she left so many loose ends made me angry. I wanted Cole and Isabella to have a HEA; and it's like did does Grace die?! We don't know and we basically won't know because it was only a trilogy. I am left quite unsatisfied to say the least.

Roselinta Well, since there were a lot of lose ends, people can think that they want to think so eveyone's happy. I don't know. I actually think that she ended it pretty cleverly.

I loved the series! :)

Rahel Abraham when i first read it i didnt like the ending but now i kind of love it because she hinted at some things and let me conjure up my own happy ending which made me feel way closer to the story and its characters....but thats just me i guess

i agree

message 26: by Natalie (new)

Natalie I have a love-hate relationship with the end of Forever. In a way it's beautiful. In the same way, it bites.

What Maggie did was tell us a small part of their lives. We know as much about their future as they do.

The Wolves of Mercy Falls is about what it means to be human, and part of being human is never knowing the ending.

And that pretty much blows.

Topaz Goold Lauren wrote: "** spoiler alert ** Although I love this series I was somewhat disappointed with the last one. Actually let me rephrase that I was disappointed in the end of the book I feel like she left so many l..."

Zarah wrote: "o well .."

But that's the beauty of it. The possibility. If Maggie had ended all of the storylines I would have been very disappointed. She saved Cole! Grace and Sam are together. What else could you want? I was half expecting her to just have a massive bloodbath, but she didn't.

Plus, now there is possibility for revisiting the series :P

Natalie I did not like the ending. It made me mad! Oh well...

message 29: by Hannah (last edited Jun 09, 2012 08:33PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Hannah I loved this series, but it needed way more closure.
Did Grace survive the cure?
How are the wolves doing on the peninsula?
How is Cole and his cure research coming along? (It was a huge deal in Linger that Sam's cure wasn't a cure, but then all of a sudden in Forever, it was just accepted and ignored.)
How is Sam after getting the cure?
Do Isabel and Cole end up together?
Heck, do Sam and Grace get to end up together without Grace dying?
Stiefvater seriously could've written another book. That actually ended the series.
It was still good. Just not as satisfying as I had hoped. I like closure.

Andrea Natalie wrote: "I have a love-hate relationship with the end of Forever. In a way it's beautiful. In the same way, it bites. What Maggie did was tell us a small part of their lives. We know as much about their fu..."

It is true what you say about how being human you never know the end of your life. I know that is probably why the author left the end so open. Nevertheless, I just loved the series sooo much that is kind of frustrating not knowing!! The ending is great for someone who loves come up with their own end of a story and has an imagination for it. Unfortunately, I'm not like that lol. It would it have been nice to know a little bit more about what happened to them...

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

I wish that Maggie would have given a real answer to whether or not Grace gets cured. I loved this entire series and was pretty mad at first with the ending but got over it. and you can just assumed that Cole's a screw up and killed Grace. Or if you have faith in Cole as a scientist, then Grace lives, gets her red coffee pot and there for her and Sam live happily ever after. It's all the readers perspective in the end to figure out if she lives or not...Which frankly I think knowing her survival isnt something that should be up to the reader, she should have put something else in the ending for it.

Elisabeth Wheatley Endings...it seems I've been running into a lot of unsatisfying ones lately. Inheritance, Mockingjay, this boook...I guess we just like things packaged up in neat little boxes with shiny little bows.

I personally was pretty upset about being left hanging over what happened with Cole and Isabel. Then I started thinking about it and I realized that Cole has a lot of stuff he still needs to sort out and so does Isabel. Maybe in a few years...but yeah, it didn't have to end that uncertainly.

I was also pretty upset over not knowing whether the cure would cure Grace or kill her...but statistically speaking, Cole hasn't murdered anyone with his medicines yet, so I think we can trust him there. : )

Phoebe Fitz-Gerald It kind of ended on a cliff hanger...is there going to be any other books? i think there should be

Chelsea Clifton To be honest, I read this series because it has gotten to much good press, and everyone on my Goodreads loved it. The best part of the series, to me, was the fact that the publisher matched the ink color with the covers. it was an OK story, but I didn't care about the two main characters, and Steifvater kind of left Isabel and Cole out to dry. It wasn't a fantastic read, but since I'd purchased them (again, they were so well made and pretty!!) I read them through. I think I'll be selling them to Half Price Books soon though..

Aurora Yeah hat kind of an ending is that?????? you can't even call it a ending, it was like: Well now it is up to her, it is either she turns into a wolf completely or could run the risk of dying. But thats all folks, I cant make up mind... so you get to do it!!!!!!!
i loved the series but I wanted a better ending!

Aurora what* not hat

i loved the series more than any other books, but i agree with you on what i would like to have been clarified in the ending.

Ashley-Anne Lauren wrote: "** spoiler alert ** I was disappointed in the end of the book I feel like she left so many l..."

i agree I hate being left hanging by a book.

Phoebe Fitz-Gerald I hated it! I even thought there might be another book, but no.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

i wanted grace to get preggers with little wolf pups!!!!

Kasey I LOVED THE BOOK BUT THE ENDING SUCKED I MEAN THERE ARE SO MANY QUESTION UNANSWERED
1) WHAT HAPPENED WITH IZZY AND COLE
2) DOES THE CURE WORK FOR GRACE
3) DOES GRACE AND SAM GET MARRIED
4) DOES IZZY MOVE TO CALIFORNIA
5) DOES IZZY AND COLE GET MARRIED
NONE OF THESE QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED BUT I STILL LOVED THE BOOK!

Karlie Ok izzy and cole? what happened to them? Also You can't be cured just for a few years but than you have to change back. i think there should be another book that tells you about izzy and cole and has grace cured for a bit so her and sam can be happy and then change to wolves at the same time. Happy ending.

Sydney Isabel and Cole made up? Sam and Grace find a way to be together? Great series, not so great ending. :( I really wanted to like this ending, but I just couldn't. :(

message 44: by Songbird. (new) - added it

Songbird. I wasn't happy with the end, because it's a open ending, like 'hey, think what you want'. I mean... Does somebody don't want that Grace gets cured?? I missed to know about Isabelle and Cole, the marriages... Everything.
Some people loves this kind of endings, but I don't, because for me it's always better to read something before imagine it.

Paula Chelseabelle wrote: "To be honest, I read this series because it has gotten to much good press, and everyone on my Goodreads loved it. The best part of the series, to me, was the fact that the publisher matched the ink..."

I agree. I read them because of the hype and found them to be "ok." I also liked that ink matched.

Bronia Yeah I felt like the ending was just so open which I suppose I like because it gives you the opportunity to do what you want with it but I kind of felt like they had made a big deal during all the books already about how they hated saying goodbye and that they were always saying goodbye so I didnt like that then at the end of the book they say goodbye again and it seems like its the last time! I just imagine that they found a cure and isabelle found the love she wanted in cole that grace and sam have and they are all happy. Oh and that beck didnt die!

message 47: by Kaelyn (new) - added it

Kaelyn I was NOT happy with this ending

Polly Roth I cannot stand open ended series. The author made a commitment to the book and they have to finish the series. She cannot stop without thoroughly explaining what happens to all the characters.

Heather After reading this series i believe she should have just did the first one and let everyone decide their own happily ever after their own way.

JainL I wasn't really connected with the book , but the ending sounded pretty good to me even though its an open ending (which really bothers me)
