Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Ok - I'll start, and someone else can carry on.

John was woken up abruptly by a loud clattering and banging outside his window. He tried to focus but he couldn't seem to see anything clearly. At first he though his eyes weren't working, but slowly he realised that it wasn't his eyes that were giving the problem at all.

message 2: by Pat () (new)

Pat () | -245 comments The windowpane had frosted over and the shapes he could almost see were tinted by a red haze coming from the right.
The sound of something slithering over the roof sent a ripple of fear up his spine.

message 3: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Was it Christmas eve? He hoped so but it wasn't like him to forget. Checking his calendar he realised it was the middle of july. Frost in July?

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Just then he also realised that the noises on the roof were the least of his worries, for something very odd had just crossed the threshold to his bedroom!

message 5: by D.D. Chant (last edited Apr 01, 2012 03:09PM) (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments John screamed and staggered back against the bookshelf on the wall. His head struck solid pine and several books fell on the floor.
The hideous apparition paused momentarily it's shape illuminated by the moonlight flooding the hallway behind it.
The light snapped on and John cringed away from the sight it reveled.
'Don't mind me,' said Mrs Aston.
John studied his housekeepers curlers and the green sludge covering her face. If it was an anti wrinkle cream he could tell her that it was FAR to late to attempt to stem the tide.
'What are you doing up here, Mrs Aston?'

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments She removed the cucumber slices from her eyes. 'I lost my way. Why's it so cold in here?'

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments For a moment he was lost for words. He staggered back in a way that only his close friends would have observed.

Only one person knew the truth of course and she was at least four hundred years in the (possible) future.

message 8: by Pat () (last edited Apr 02, 2012 04:14AM) (new)

Pat () | -245 comments Easing past Mrs Aston, John made for the doorway. It's the central heating. It's gone on the blink again. I'll just go down and check the boiler.
John swiftly left the room, if only she knew the truth she would be gone not even stopping to pack her bags. Esme where are you? thought John, I so need you here with me. His mind ran back over the events of Esmes dissappearence. If only I'd been quicker I might have saved her. Now who knows where she is.

message 9: by Gingerlily - The Full Wild (last edited Apr 03, 2012 06:39AM) (new)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Esme, of course. was far away in the future with her stolen time machine. How bitterly she regretted what had seemed such a brilliantly simple idea at the time. It should have been foolproof. . . but like a fool she had forgotten the first principle of time travel.

message 10: by Karina (new)

Karina Kantas Of course there was one person who knew. John planned on visiting the Curiosity Shop in the morning, hoping that Old Mr. Smithers was in a good mood. John needed answers, and quickly.

message 11: by D.M. Andrews (author) (last edited Apr 02, 2012 04:28AM) (new)

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Meanwhile, Captain Axon Fenderblast jumped from the hatch of the class II deep-freeze frigate and wiped his brow.

'Phew, that was close,' he said, as he looked around at the street he'd landed in. He'd managed to engage the stealth device, but even so the engines had blasted the area with frost and a gaping hole stared back at him from the compartment carrying his deadly cargo. He just hoped none of them had stirred from their induced hibernation; that none of them had escaped...

message 12: by Kate (last edited Apr 02, 2012 05:13AM) (new)

Kate (littlekate1) | 574 comments As this futile hope was crossing his mind, Axon sensed a change in the atmosphere around him. Luckily the street was deserted at this early hour of the morning. He knew that if he caught 'the creatures' in the early stages of waking they were likely to be slow, providing his best chance at containment.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments In the meantime, Mrs Aston sank to the floor sobbing........her plans to seduce her employer had not worked. She would have to find another way - and soon!!

message 14: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) A few hours later a lightbulb went off in Mrs Ashton's brain, if I can't seduce him then I'll kill him instead...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments If I can't have him then no-one can.
She began to put together a terrible plan. This would make him suffer the way she had...

message 16: by Kate (last edited Apr 02, 2012 06:29AM) (new)

Kate (littlekate1) | 574 comments As she got to her feet and walked to her room she caught sight of the green cream still on her face. She weakened for a moment, 'it's no wonder he looked scared' she thought, 'maybe I will try one last time, I'll make myself irresistable'. If that doesn't work, well... a gleam sparkled in Mrs Ashtons eye as she thought of what she would do with her employer.

[edited bloomin typo lol]

message 17: by Jay-me (Janet) (last edited Apr 03, 2012 03:11AM) (new)

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments John was dozing in his study, he had perhaps drunk a little much of the brandy he thought as he struggled to stay awake. He heard a faint noise outside and tried to wake himself up. "I'll go and look in another minute"
It was the last thought he had as Mrs Aston had finally decided what to do.
She crept in the study holding a large frozen leg of lamb. As she took one look at her employer she nearly abandoned her plan, but seeing the empty brandy bottle and the note beneath his hand she resolutely swung the joint and cracked his skull.
She then went back into the kitchen and disposed of the murder weapon by putting it into the oven and roasting it.
Now to get the note and proceed with the next part of her cunning plan.........

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

However, when she went to retrieve the note, it had vanished. All she could see was a faint green glow where the note had been...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Meanwhile, outside in the street, sinister things were happening. The creatures were waking up much more rapidly than expected, and Axon was panicking.
'I need back-up' he thought, and scrambled towards the communicator button. Just as he reached it,

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments an icy hand grasped his wrist.

'Uh oh', he thought.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments "Listen very carefully," began Captain Fenderblast as he turned to the constable, "I shall say this only once..."

message 22: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments 'We are all in terrible danger!'
The Constable glanced at the shiny silver uniform that proclaimed Axon Fenderblast a Captain of I.C.E. Corp. He sighed heavily; this was going to be a long night.
'You can tell me all about it at the station,' soothed Constable Gurns.
'But you don't understand!'
'I understand all right,' muttered the Constable. 'Just how much have you had to drink tonight sir?'
Captain Fenderblast drew himself up in indignation.
'I am on duty, Constable!' he declared outraged. 'I have not been drinking!'
'No, sir, I'm on duty. You've had one to many at whatever party you were attending.'
'I haven't been to a party!'
Constable Gurns lifted an eyebrow.
'Then why are you in fancy dress?'

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Axon didn't see much point in mentioning that he wasn't the one wearing a four hundred year old police uniform. Instead he casually pressed the 'jump' button and relocated himself in front of a green monster wielding a frozen joint. He didn't think he would ever get the hang of the 21st century.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments In the cargo hold of the crashed ship, there was an ominous groaning noise.

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments 'bugger, I left Patti in the ship' he whispered as he watched the only person who could fix his ship being bludgeoned with a piece of blunt lamb.

message 26: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Mrs Ashton looked outside the study window, how odd that the note had gone and even odder that there was a glowing green outline where it once had lain. Blinking hard and giving her head a little shake she looked again, surely it was all the excitement causing her to see things you know, emotions running high and all that. But no, the green outline was still there. She reached out a hand (the one not still holding the frozen joint) and touched the outline, it came away on her fingertips coating them slightly in a faint green gel which sort of shimmered...

Something outside the window caught her attention and when she looked up she came eye to eye with the most unlikely of creatures.

message 27: by Gingerlily - The Full Wild (last edited Apr 05, 2012 01:30AM) (new)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments It was a police constable, but outlined in a vivid green glow as if he had been eating green Ready Brek... Somehow this was the most sinister thing she could ever remember seeing. She fainted with a soft sigh and the joint fell from her limp hand to the floor with a thud.

message 28: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments The constable watch the lady fall to the floor, he felt guilty that he may have given her a fright and caused her to faint, and by the looks of it ruined the dinner which was now lying on the floor of the room. He would be in trouble if the chief inspector found out about this, so he scarpered.

Luckily for Mrs Ashton a pile of books and papers had hidden John from the window and the constable never even noticed. It was just as the constable was rounding the rose beds out onto the street that John gave a stir.

message 29: by Jay-me (Janet) (last edited Apr 06, 2012 03:15AM) (new)

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments He couldn't understand why his housekeeper was lying on the floor with a joint of meat lying next to her. Particularly since he could smell the dinner - it smelled as though it was burning!! Flames were reflecting on the study walls!! Why did his head hurt so much? What was all that green? With a shudder he remembered the green goo all over the housekeeper's face earlier.........

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments At that moment there was a ring at the doorbell. John went to open the door, clutching his aching head. It was the postman with a letter that seemed to have a faint green glow to it. John glared at the postman with eyes like headlamps.

message 31: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments The postman shifted his weight nervously, why was this man staring at him like a pair of headlamps? He handed over the letter and noticed that Johns hand was glowing green when he took the letter. The postman quickly let go and surreptitiously wiped his hands on his trousers.

"Well, that's all this morning. I'll be off then"

He turned and walked away as quickly as he could feeling rather unsettled.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Axon teleported himself back into the control room of the frigate and put the letter he had taken from the desk into the scanatronic-descrambler, hoping to be able to make sense of the old fashioned method of communication the humans of the time used. He checked that the forcefield was safely around the sick bay where Patti was recovering, and then set out to track down and recapture his escaped "passengers".

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Meanwhile, in a galaxy far, far away...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Axon's home planet was under attack. Wave after wave of big shiny deadly looking ships equipped with the latest illudium Q-36 explosive space modulators hurtled towards the secret headquarters where the high command lay hidden.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Lieutenant Custard strode angrily from the room, and made his way to his quarters. The bombing was all going to plan - but why hadn't he heard from the agent that was planted on Axon's ship. The reports he had received indicated that the ship had crashed - but then silence. He hoped nothing had happened to her - she was one of the best operatives.

message 36: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments However there could be no denying that her loyalty was being tested by this mission. As much as she hated how I.C.E. were using the ‘Creatures’ and wished to stop them, she was good friends with Axon Fenderblast. Lieutenant Custard wasn’t at all sure that she would be able to do what was necessary, he had told The Entity so when they had decided to include her in this operation.
But there had been little choice, the bond she had with the ‘Creatures’ was unique, she had their trust and the ‘Creatures’ did not trust easily.....

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments But? I thought we were writing a story?

Jay-me (Janet)  | 3784 comments {{Just for Patti}}

Axon returned to the frigate, exhausted and filthy. At least he had managed to track down all his missing passengers who were all safely locked in their quarters, the temperature slowly returning to the optimum level to keep them inactive once more.
He ran his hands through his hair then quickly wished that he hadn't - or at least that he had washed them first. Whatever it was that he had fallen into trying to restrain the last creature was starting to burn holes in his suit.
A pinging noise from the corner attracted his attention - the machine had finished translating the letter. He smiled, and a few flakes of dried manure fell off his face. Now he could find out what was going on around here. A few more flakes fell down as he thought about questioning his former assistant, trapped in the sick bay.
A red glow outside alerted him to the fact that the most important thing was to get John out of the house quickly.

is it going to be destroyed by Lieutenant Custard?

Is Axon or Custard the real baddie? (is or are ???)

Pat () | -245 comments Watching the postman hurry off John walked down the path with the letter in his hand. Just as he was about to open it he noticed something moving along just outside the hedge...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments It was a cat. Which reassured him quite a bit. Until he noticed that it appeared to be glowing green. And flickering slightly. As he was watching it it suddenly expanded enormously and became transparent. Then it solidified partially and shank down to lion size. While this was going on, he hadn't noticed a mysterious shape sneaking up behind him.

T4bsF (Call me Flo) (time4bedsaidflorence) ........it was the typo Police coming to put an "r" into GL's shank!!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments What's wrong with my shank? If you can have lamb shanks you can have lion shanks.

Pat () | -245 comments With a "r" in her shank it was difficult for GL to run and she quickly fell prey to the evil minion hell bent on turning everything on it's head. Flo on the other hand once she saw what was happening to GL, grabbed a heavy plant pot and crashed it down on the minion's head. Together they lurched towards ...
