I am really looking forward to C.W. Gortner's new book The Queen's Vow: A Novel Of Isabella Of Castile. If it is anything like his others it will be fantastic.

Rebecca Huston (telynor) | 71 comments ladywallingford -- I just got word that my copy of this one just shipped. So very little is written about the early Plantagenet queens, unless they're Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Sabrina | 49 comments Thanks Ladies - I just added 3 new books to my TBR pile :-)

Technically, Matilda of Flanders isn't a Plantagenet queen (the term derives from the Latin name of a shrub which Geoffrey of Anjou--Henry II's father--supposedly wore a sprig from in his hat) but I do know what you mean. Eleanor has a tendency to steal the limelight. My copy downloaded to my Kindle yesterday so as soon as I'm done with Jocasta: The Mother-Wife of Oedipus I'll probably dig right into it.

I always look forward to anything Sharon writes, Carol.

Did you know that this year is the 30th anniversary of the publishing of her first book, The Sunne in Splendour. For those of you in the UK, Sharon mentioned that they are planning to release a 30th anniversary edition there.
