The feedback about having 1 or 2 short stories going and one larger work of literature seemed positive to me. Also, it seemed May 1 is quite a ways off to wait to get started.

Flannery O'Connor is widely read and for those who haven't but want to, it shoule be easy to find and nice short reads with plenty to talk about.

Please be patient with me as I learn how to navigate this. Should we start with the title story?

I also added Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead because 3 different people asked for it, it's short, international...and something to do while we decide on the larger literary work. I decided The Heart is a Lonely Hunter isn't quite "short". It's more medium.

Go, good citizen and save your city!! See, Flannery O'Connor is great for an ongoing gig just for persons like yourself that have a life offline:) If you miss the first short story, there's always the next one.

BTW, you can find her short stories online free one at a time with a simple google search. Every major college or university has them.

Also, I think May 1 is what I threw out there and should stick with for our non short story. It will give me time to get acquainted with how to moderate well.

Great!! We moved this to a Flannery O'Connor folder instead of Kristina folder so that we could start new threads as we start new short stories. Please go here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/8...

I will ask Colleen to help me close this thread or dump it completely so the actual book discussion can get underway.

T.J. Forrester | 1 comments I've read all of Flannery O'Connor's stories several times and have started them over once again. Last night I reread Everything That Rises Must Converge and rate the title as one of the best ever. O'Connor delights in writing about characters who can't see beyond their own clueless and this story is no exception. I wish I could say more, am preparing for a cross country bike/hiking trip and have some things I gotta do.
