I think I'm going to take a break from reading though until exams are over. Than I'll have all summer to read with no stress.

ps i read the hunger series a while back : D go team finnick
I've not long finished The Hunger Games. Now I'm most of the way through Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson.
Next maybe Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins or Lover mine by J.R.Ward or Glass Houses by Rachel Caine or.....Who knows?. The to-read pile is not a small one!.

Do you enjoy the Black Dagger Brotherhood series? Which book is Lover Mine? I think I'm up to the fourth or fifth novel now. What do you think of them?

I know exactly what you meant! Definitely read the last two Hunger Games though. And once you read Catching Fire, it's impossible not to read Mockingjay.

All three good books. Haven't yet read 'Lover Mine' but I adore the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It would be hard for me to pick between reading one. I'd probably suggest finishing the Hunger Games personally, since I've just finished reading them recently and I couldn't put then down.
I don't think any book lover has a small to-read pile, mine is around 200?

Never heard of that one? I don't generally read much about working moms to be honest, but it sounds good! :-)

Hi Rose!
The Picture of Dorian Grey is a fantastic book! Quite good for a classic. Ahh, I loved Finnick, but I'm Team Cinna or Team Peeta. :)

I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Each individual book focusing on a charming love story between our two lead characters, While still introducing new characters or revisiting old ones with the use of multiple POV's.
Plenty of action and multiple sup plots help elevate these books above your average romance, well, I think so at least.
Lover mine is book eight in the series. Since it's the much hyped John Matthews story I'm expecting nothing less than top quality here!. I own all the books in the series except the recently released book ten, so it's a matter of when, not if I read them.
If I stick to my new genre rotation policy, then Catching Fire will indeed be my next book. I'm reading an epic fantasy now and before this it was a paranormal romance so I am due a YA book.
Dorien Gray seems to be popular here!. It also happens to be one of the few classic books that are still on my to-read list. I did enjoy the movie.
Ah, the problem of the over large to-read pile?. It is one of the few advantages my recent the switch to audio has over the physical book. Most are stored virtually so I don't have to keep finding places to store the books while they wait patiently for me to read them.

I know, I find good series to be like that. I never want to put it down. That's why I'm not starting anything till exams are over.

I have really enjoyed the books I've read from the Black Dagger Brotherhood to date. I agree that the complexity of the plots really makes the books that much better. I haven't read anything quite like her books yet. And I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series when I get the chance.

Probably for the best. I still remember the night before one of my exams when I decided to read "a couple of chapters" to help me relax before I went to sleep.
Next thing I knew it was 3.30am and I was lucky I could even wake up the next morning!.

Ya I've been there before, but in high school. Now I'd really end up shooting myself if I did it in university. But I'll be able to read again soon, only three more exams to go. And then it will be summer on top of that and I'll have lots of time to devote to reading.

I Have finished Way of Kings By Brandon Sanderson and am now reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins.
I'm about a quarter of the way into Catching Fire and I must say I expected to see more of Gale or Katniss's Family. So far it's much the same cast as the first book.

by Tess Gerritsen on DVD. I am hooked, this book is making me mad trying to guess how all these lives are connected.
Catching Fire is great! Once you get further in we meet a few new characters like Finnick.
The Bone Garden is a fabulous book! Tess Gerritsen is a really good author! The Bone Garden really encompasses the history/crime/romance triangle that I love an awful lot! So that book really entertained me, and it wasn't slow paced at all. It was my first Tess Gerritsen book and a reason I went out and bought a ton of her books!
I'm currently reading Avenger's Angel by Heather Killough-Walden.
Oh, and I got a book blog. How cool am I? haha. If any of you want to review my recent reads and reviews. :D http://nerdybookreviews.wordpress.com/

Ahhh, thank you! Have you found netgalley.com where you can pre-released books in file formats to read on computer/kindle/device. You can apply for books there, although getting them is pretty tough in certain cases. Still worth a try if you ever wanted a file on something new, and you have only a certain amount of time to read them once you download. It's for those of us who have blogs. :)
Your blog is simple, I'd try separating the rating from the little review to make it clearer! :)

I didn't mean to say your reviews were rubbish! I really like them, I thought they were short and to the point before you got bored. And, the main point of writing it for me is enjoyment and expressing your opinion for others to read.
I only thought the separation would give people a clear indication of your feelings on the book before reading your review. :)

Yeah, it looks good. I don't own it as of yet. Well let me know what you think. I'd be interested to hear your opinion!
Please let the full group know what you think Rose. I too like the sound of Kill Me Softly. Who does not love a good fairytale re-telling?.

As much as I would love to I cant because I lost my book on the bus!!! I'll have to wait a while before I can get another one.
You lost the book? How can you lose a book?!?

I know!!!! Its horrible Im so ashamed :C

I am reading The Surgeon by Tess Gerittsen. She is a fabulous writer and I am in so deep already. I have ideas of who the serial killer is, but I am sure more exciting twists will be thrown in.

Yes, I am now starting her Rizzoli and Isle series, her writring is so capitvating and I simply can't put it down till I know who "done it". Besides it has just teh right amount of gore for my sick mind.

I enjoyed The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen when I read it. I can't recall it being anything like the Rizzoli and Isles TV series.
My recollection of the book is a little vague though. I have not read anything by Tess Gerritsen since we hit the new millennium!.
Did the narrator do a good job with The Bone Garden audio book?.

I am finished reading Catching Fire and Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins both of which I enjoyed. I did not like Mockingjay quite so much as the previous two books in the series.
Now I am reading Lover Mine by J.R.Ward. Really looking forward to this one!.

I agree with you about Mockingjay, I really loved the series, but the end one seemed to fall flat a little, and I detested the deaths in it. They made me really upset!
I've just finished reading Glitch By Heather Anastasiu. It was rather good!
I'm not really sure what my plans to read next since I've got several things and nothing concrete/

YES, she did a wonderful job, she had a calm voice, but the inflection and accents were there when needed. I could tell just by her tone which character was speaking.

The Apprentice I screamed and pounded the steering wheel like a lunatic in my car at the ending, that people were just staring at me. It was THAT good
Ohhh, I'll look out for what you think of Cinder, Gavin! I know you nominated it for the book read so I'll be interested in seeing what you think! :)
Karen, Tess Gerritsen is a great writer, I'm sooo glad you're enjoying the series so much because I have them to read, well some of them. I don't know which ones I own. I definitely have the first one, but I can't keep track of the rest. haha.
I just finished
and
.
Hostage to Pleasure was such an embarrasment to carry around, but it was quite good. Not my favourite, but definitely enjoyable. I found parts of it a tad confusing.
As for Branded by Fire. I adored the characters and the book, probably one of my favourite to date, but something niggled at the back of my mind whilst reading it that I can't pin down. Either way, I look forward to the rest in the series.
The Psy-Changeling series is a really good paranormal series once it kicks of and it's set around 2080, with three races: Psy, Changeling and human. We don't see much of human action that much, it's more Psy, Changeling, but it's good!

Catching Fire is good! :)
I have finished Cinder by Marissa Meyer. It was a great book and had far more to offer than your average Cinderella re-telling. One of those rare books which continued to get better as the story progressed. Can't wait for book two!.
I've also finished The Running Man by Stephen King. I had read this previously many years ago, but remembered absolutely nothing. It was like reading it for the first time!. I still don't love Stephen King as an author, and had a few issues with this book, but on the whole I did enjoy it.
Heather--I finished Catching Fire not that long ago and loved it!.
Now I'm starting the group read Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder. It was one of the first books I re-bought when I switched to audio, so I am really looking forward to finally reading( or listening!) to it.
