Thanks Genre X for introducing me to T.C.Boyle. This was one of my favorite Gen X selections so far. Which TC Boyle should I read next?
I'm so glad you liked it! I've spoken with some of the TC Boyle superfans here at the library and here's what we suggest:
The Road to Wellville: The hilarious account of Dr John Harvey Kellogg, inventor of the cornflake and peanut butter. Boyle discusses Kellogg's profligate, degenerate and opportunistic son and the birth of America's first health fanatics.
Talk Talk: A profoundly deaf woman in desperate pursuit of a man who has stolen her identity
Tortilla Curtain: A Mexican illegal immigrant couple seek a better life in Southern California. They cross paths with a liberal nature writer who lives in a gated community in the same canyon.
Anyone else have a suggestion or comment? Feel free to leave them here.
