Amy Barthell | 2 comments I remember reading this series of books back in like 4th grade-ish I believe..but I was an advanced reader so they could be intended for an older audience. Basically there were about a boy who I think lived with his grandparents and befriended an older gentleman who lived across the street. They would solve, well not quite mysteries, but issues of a more sinister nature together. I distinctly remember the covers of the books always scared the crap out of me. They featured long skinny people with super creepy facial features. I remember the books having supernatural type undertones. I know this is really vague, but I have been trying to remember these books for years with no luck. The cover art is still imprinted in my mind after 20 years and I would LOVE to be able to find these books again
THANKS!

Maybe the series that starts with that book? It doesn't match completely but your description reminded me of it, so I figured I'd mention it.

Amy Barthell | 2 comments K weird...my reply didn't save..long story Short THANK YOU! It wasn't the book you mentioned but the title sounded familiar so I looked up the author and Tada! My years of searching are over. It is the Johnny Dixon series by John Bellairs I was trying to remember. It starts with The Curse of the Blue Figurine in case anyone else is interested. I never would have found it w/o your help! I can't thank you enough!!!
