Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Week-long Readathon: Apr 23rd (12 am) thru Apr 29th (11:59 pm)
Day-long Readathon: Apr 24th (12 am - 11:59 pm)

Rules:
~Just have fun!

Breaking It Down:
~You can read towards a goal of books, pages, hours, or any combination of the three. Aim for what will help you with challenges, or make a goal that IS a challenge!
~~You can keep track of what you read by writing the exact minutes down on paper, like I do, or you can just estimate from the time you start reading to the time you stop and write that down. Either way is up to you.
~This will be the topic where you can post your reading progress and discuss with others about what they're reading.
~At the end of the day-long readathon, I will have a Summary topic up and running so those of you that only do the Day-long can go ahead and post your summaries.

If you have any questions, ask below!

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I am SOOO sorry for this being put up late! I've been so busy with school after Spring Break that I completely forgot.

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 1455 comments I will do my day-long readathon either tomorrow or next Sunday. I am excited. I need a read-a-thon. I still feel like I am in a book rut.

I am going to try for 3 books and 750 pages and 8 hours listened.

Lori Goldstein This months read-a-thon challenge for me will be:

800 pages

3 books (ie. 250 + pages)

Guess that good 'ole facebook will be going by the wayside this week. LOL

Don't know how everyone does it. This month's read a thon was a bust for me. Tell me how you get so much reading done, please.

Stacie (shorty_320) | 138 comments The day-long falling on a Tuesday will not work for me (especially with an 11-hour work day), so I'll try to fit it in either Monday, Friday, or Saturday. I have a nice stack of library books to get through, so I'll have plenty to pull from! I'm going to try for 7 books read total. We'll see...

Jennifer (ace_librarian) I just did Dewey's 24 hour readathon yesterday! Ended up with a total of almost 12 hours of reading/listening yesterday. So I won't do a day-long because that was just exhausting! =)

But I'll do the week-long. I need to play catch up on some reads.

My goal will be 1200 pages for this week and to finish Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins on audio.

Books Currently Reading: The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms (The Inheritance Trilogy, #1) by N.K. Jemisin Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith

Books Finished: The One That I Want by Jennifer Echols (259 pages) City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare (425 pages)

Books To Read: Everneath (Everneath, #1) by Brodi Ashton One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, #1) by Janet Evanovich The Hunt (The Hunt, #1) by Andrew Fukuda White Horse by Alex Adams The Walking Dead, Book Two by Robert Kirkman

Aneeqah | 227 comments I also did the Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon! I ended up reading over 1,000 pages, which was great. =) So I, like Jennifer, probably won't be doing the day one.

I'll be posting my goals soon!

message 9: by Zakiya (last edited Apr 27, 2012 03:20PM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) This month, as I got behind after I finished my fourth book, I will make my goal 5 books and 900 pages.

Want to Finish:
~~Feast of Fools (page 95-242) FINISHED
~~Wicked (page 17-406)
~~D.Gray-man Volume 2 (page 25-179) FINISHED

Want to Start & Finish:
~~Marked (306 pages)
~~Betrayed (310 pages)
~~Trials of Death (202 pages) FINISHED
~~The Vampire Prince (192 pages)

So far, I'm almost done with D.Gray-man, and I'll probably be able to finish Feast of Fools while I tutor someone this afternoon. I've been getting ahold of some great books lately!

Shay | 862 comments So, keep hearing about Bitterblue. Everyone who got an ARC says it was good and most people have said they like the other books in the series. I think the release date is May 1st. Are the other two books in the series worth reading? If so, maybe I'll make that a readathon goal- finish Graceling and Fire before May 1st.

I read Graceling and Fire about 2 half years ago and I ended up really liking them, but my taste in books might be different from you. Graceling came first then Fire which is a companion novel to Graceling. I think Bitterblue might be the sequel to Graceling because of the synopsis of Bitterblue starts saying "Eight year after Graceling" not sure.

I loved, loved, loved them both! And if you're a fantasy fan, I would definitely recommend them z

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Finished Feast of Fools (The Morganville Vampires, #4) by Rachel Caine yesterday! Hoping to finish Trials of Death (Cirque Du Freak, #5) by Darren Shan today.

Shay | 862 comments I'm going to give Graceling a try. Thanks for feedback.

message 21: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (shorty_320) | 138 comments I'll try to get a list up tomorrow, when I'm not utterly exhausted from work, but so far I've finished one that I had started before the read-a-thon, plus four others. Also currently reading 3 others that I'll finish before the week is through. Whew! Off to bed for me!

Jennifer (ace_librarian) hey, has anyone else had problems with their lists of bookcovers going vertical instead of horizontal (example--my post 7 above)? Is it my computer or did Goodreads just do something weird?

I noticed that last night. Must be a new bug?

Okay as long as it's not just me lol. I was going a little crazy, especially on my personal challenge page. It is very annoying.

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 1455 comments I have been majorly slacking this read-a-thon. I haven't even finished one book this week :( I think it is because I just went back to working graveyard shift this month and all week I got about 3-4 hours sleep per day...

Oh well maybe next read-a-thon it will be better.
