okay. if you're like me (and I pray you don't think "what a retard"), then you listen to music while reading a book. The question is, what music do you listen to? For me it depends on the book... for ex.:
Linkiln Park with Silver Blades
Taylor Swift with Generation Dead (not that good of a book personally)
My Chemical Romance with When Dad Killed Mom
PJ Harvey with The Cry of the Icemark
...
by the way, if anyone mentions a book or music group they think sounds cool, and want to learn more, just post a ??ed comment, and we'll explain.

Well when I listen to music I then tend to feel the urge to write! But I do listen to the Fray, Paramore, Killers, Coldplay.

Yeah and musoc I think would fit the book, like twilight, I have playlist that amazingly enough fits it very well!

I can't do anything in silence, nothing homework, reading, nothing....I have to have music or some noise (that isn't as irritating so mostly music

Totall siclence bugs me to death! If there is total scilence and I home alone, I will put a cd in my boom box and then clean or read.

for-much-deliberation ... (formuchdeliberationreads) Linkin Park, Chemical romance, coldplay, killers....... anything once its alternative, and we could add in a little rock, some iron maiden, king diamond........
I always have music on no matter what!!!!!

Thinker, you and I must have the same music library. Sweet bands everyone, I love them all!

I sometimes love total silence and need "white noise" so I have my air machine on - AllerAir from Canada. I tend to concentrate best without music but I like to have Loreena McKennitt on when I am reading some Norah Lofts.
I bought the Twilight music and played it while reading the last book but only liked two songs so sent it to my son. I hope he liked it. I may get the soundtrack later.
I like the soundtrack from Munich and also the one from The Last of the Mohicans. I am able to paint if I play Out of Africa.
I am about to quit listening to Christmas music, anyone else putting away their Christmas stuff? I mainly listen to Elvis every year at Christmas.

I prefer silence when I am reading. I'm ok with classical or something light in the background.

Yui (ilovegrendel) yeah, i listen to songs without lyrics 'cause then it confuses me. but when i'm doing boring stuff, i like to listen to Katy Perry's Hot N Cold or Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Hot N Cold and Unwritten are on my favorite songs ever list!!!!!

Yui (ilovegrendel) yay!!!!!! finally someone that agrees with me!

Jennifer Music while reading is pointless for me. I swear if the book is good, I totally lose my hearing to anything going on around me. A friend of mine complained how loud the library was when we left to go back to work...I thought it was completely silent.

I love to listen to almost any music, but I don't think I could read through country music...I hate it.

I guess our musics favourites lists are quite similar!!!
I think we should all atart sharing some music ideas!

Yukie, I have the same problem.

I use the music as something to drown out the noises of my "family". "" because we're not exactly what you'd think of when you say the word family. I'm the same, if it's good I loose myself.
