first and foremost, here is the flowchart of awesomeness, based on a list of top 100 sci-fi and fantasy books (the link for the actual list is in the text) (I'm very proud to say that I've actually read about 20 of the books on the flow-chart, and a few more are on my tbr-pile. but then I'm a fantasy nut.)
